Fitzgerald Toussaint

Submitted by turbo cool on

Has anyone noticed the ridiculous numbers that Fitzgerald Toussaint is putting up so far this year? To quote Rivals word for word "After four games, Toussaint has 851 yards and 13 touchdowns on 63 carries (13.5 yards per carry) and also has a 48-yard receiving touchdown". 13.5 YPC?!?!? having him, jeremy gallon and a healthy terence robinson next year in addition to mcguffie, shaw, stonum, and mcneal is just ridiculous. that alone should make every michigan fan feel okay knowing that we might have the most absurdly talented offense in the country for a while.

that is all. GO BLUE.

I expect the 2010 class to be fairly lineman heavy.  Our 2008 class was, and that may have scared away some of the elite lineman, esp since we have no seniors right now.  With both ND and OSU having very strong OL classes lately, UM will be more desirable, relatively, based on the depth chart.  Even more so if a couple of the current freshman get their redshirts peeled off at some point (which I hope doesn't happen).

I personally am not overly worried about our offensive line over the next few years. O'Neil, Khoury, Barnum, Mealer (hopefully he will be feeling healthy and ready to go) and even Omameh (i think it is very encouraging that RichRod referenced him today as someone who may not redshirt) should be developed both from a physical standpoint and a mental standpoint by the begginning of next year. On top of that, we will have a lot of guys returning from our current offesive line this year, including our best offensive lineman-- Steve Schilling. With that said, over the next few years our offensive line should be a strength of our team and not a weakness. This is extremely encouraging since our skill players are so young and talented; the future is very bright from an offensive standpoint.

if there is any coach who can utilize all this talent it is rich rod. people r saying we r gonna become like nebraska under calahan but calahan never recruited like we did and his offense didnt get his skill guys out in the open field.

Calahan could not steer a row boat in a bath tub....that guy was no leader of young men, no one respected him at Nebraska.  Talk about changing traditions, when he got there he took down all the pictures of old Nebraska in the football offices, from that point forward he lost the insiders....he was lucky the athletic director was his buddy and not a Nebraska guy.

The oline class of last year has garnered alot of early praise from insiders.  The guy that people think has the most upside is Omameh who has already added alot of weight and the terms "freakish athleticism" is what I had read.  They really like Barnum as well.

So far the biggest disappointment I guess is Oneill has a ways to go, given his hype thought he would have played.  The staff really likes this Oline class, and I like Frey who was dealt probably the worst hand of all the coaches.

Its hard to believe that Toussaint is a 3-star to scout with numbers like this.  He'll probably get atleast a 4th star, which should make everyone who is panicking about our recruiting class happy.

I ref high school water polo in west michigan and last year I happened to see O'Neill in attendence at one of the games and he looked very soft. Don't get me wrong he is a very large kid, but he didn't look like a weight room type of kid. He looked massive rather than strong in my opinion.

Agreed, guys in baggy jeans and varsity jackets sitting in the stands probably aren't weight room type of kids. If they were, they'd either be in the weight room or wearing leotards to show off their guns, right?

OK, so last year, you coached a water polo game, last year. And at last year's water polo game, Dan O'Neill was there. And last year when you saw him, he "looked soft".

And "he didn't look strong".

Clearly, this explains why, after months of working out with a D-I strength coach, he's not playing.

I am sold.

Did you know that once I was at a party and Anthony Thomas was drunk? Dude must be an alcoholic.

Well, he tripped. That meant he was drunk, right?

And I saw him from like 30 feet away. And I'm not sure it was him. But still...ALCOHOLIC.

Well in that case, Brian Griese was drunk once and won a National Championship.  We should skip chocolate milk and go straight to vodka after workouts.

Cause and effect motherfuckers.

Wow, why is every commenter on this board a complete asshole? Is there a reason why you guys have to completely flame everyone out? Jesus, I just wanted to point out that I had seen the kid and he looked like he had a seat at a Little Debbie buffet, sorry it made your bits go limp.

Because your observation is meaningless. You're explaining something that is happening NOW on you seeing him, in street clothes, a year ago. It's like the people on Rivals who try to say that Jonas Mouton isn't in the starting lineup "because he likes going out to bars too much". It's knocking a kid based on the flimsiest of evidence.

Baleedat - Varsity Blue runs a feature every Monday morning that details how all our recruits did the previous weekend. The link goes right to the most up-to-date such post. In short: Toussaint did very well.

Oh and writing an awful blog about the communist equivalent to Rich Rod is meanignful? You need to re-focus on your own writings and lay off the commenters here. It may be my opinion, but you guys don't make this an enjoyable experience. I was simply stating an observation, completely sorry if I ruined your day and if it was meaningless to you. Do you have a personal problem with me? It seems whenever I write anything you have something to comment about how meaningless or awful it was. What is your problem exactly? Do you think that only your observations are meaningful? Maybe you think that only your opinions are valid?  That is a grand way to travel through this life, I do wish you well with your quest on becoming a full fledged asshole, you are wll on your way.

I don't know anything about other posts you've made here, but saying stuff like that based on an observation of a kid sitting in the stands is absurd and wholly illogical.
