Fire Harbaugh Fire everyone

I don't care if this is a duplicate thread x50. This is an utter failure on multiple levels. There is no excuse to get boatraced by 2 teams in a row with significantly less talent on their roster than UM (and a new coach w Sparty). This is also year 6 of Harbaugh and 1-7 is a legitimate possibility. Don Brown hasn't been good since 2016. Fire everyone

Literally the only reason he is still here is because he played here once upon a time, is a “MiChiGaN MaN” and represents the program trying relive 1985. If his name was Tom Smith people would’ve lost their minds years ago. Even now, the AD and Sam and the rest of the slappies will run interference because it’s easier to do that than admit the Savior is a total fraud

Sad thing is, we have talent.

Part of me believes that, but part of me wonders why Hinton, a 5-star can't beat his guy up front.  Same for Villain.  Same for supposedly first rounder Paye.  You don't need a good scheme to rush the passer.  Beat the guy in front of you!  I wonder if they are that talented.  IU's o-line is not talented.

I’m going to say it , Michigan isn’t ever going to return to national prominence not in the way Alabama did after they’re dark years.  Unless they strike gold with a Heisman caliber player,  and there isn’t one anywhere on the roster right now.  Honestly even the 5 stars look like crap.

Dax Hill looks good and Corum, Barrett, & Johnson look decent...that's about it.  I'm very disappointed in Filliaga, Jackson, All, and the entire d-line.  WTF is up with Hinton, Paye, Villain, Jeter, & Kemp?  Recruiting wise, that's a loaded d-line and they are doing nothing against a meh o-line.

This is really hard to watch.  We are not really good at anything, so it's hard to find an identity, either offensively or defensively.  Defensively, we try to play man and get beat one-on-one.  We try to play zone and we get picked apart bit by bit.  Ultimately we have two major problems.  We aren't getting pressure up front AND we can't stay with WRs.  Dax is our only playmaker.  I'm watching on DVR so I can pause pre-snap to see what the QBs are looking at, then again once the QB has the ball in his hands to see where the pocket is.  Here's what I see.

  • When IU has the ball they have a clean pocket and give the QB plenty of time to find the open WR, which is a problem when your CBs are weak.

So, here's my question.  Hinton is a 5-star, Villain is a high 4-star, Paye is supposedly a 1st round pick, and Jeter and Kemp are 4-stars.  Why can't they get pressure by beating thier guys up front?

  • When UM has the ball they don't get a clean pocket.  The QB doesn't have a lot of time.
  • The QB is accurate sometimes, not all the time.  When he does make accurate throws, his WRs & TEs are dropping balls frequently.
  • When he gets the ball out quick on the edge, the CB is on the WR quickly.
  • There isn't much running room up front.

I wonder where the QB runs are and RPOs?  I get we're playing young guys up front and we have a young QB, but there just isn't anything we're doing well to hang our hat on so it's hard to get in any groove.

Other observations I'm seeing that are alarming.

  • No talent at CB, don't have the guys to play man press
  • TEs are dropping lots of balls
  • We're jumping offsides all the time which is just undisciplined

At the end of the day there are some things that make sense.  When you miss your #1 CB, #1 WR, OTs, and are playing a young QB there are going to be some problems.  My biggest surprise is that with all the recruiting talent we have, we have zero pass rush.  We've also gotten worse in each of the past two years and continue to wonder WTF while watching this team play.  All this leads me to believe we need to try someone new.  JH got us back to relevance, but he's going backwards now.  New blood, new system, new excitement, are all needed.  UM is hard to watch right now with no identity on either side of the ball.  This is going to be a long season and maybe that's what's needed to hire someone new.
