I love me some M&Ms, too. HALOL

How do you like them apples, IU? It must be tough to be the fourth best basketball school in Indiana these days.
November 3rd, 2011 at 9:56 PM ^
Don't get me wrong, I'm unconditionally a Michigan basketball fan, but IU does have a class one behind ours, and it's not like there's much reason to expect them not to be good in the near future. They're a sleeping giant the way FSU and Miami are in football, IMO.

Updates so fast

How trustworthy is ESPN when it comes to basketball recruiting?
November 3rd, 2011 at 5:44 PM ^
they might be the best of the bunch.
November 3rd, 2011 at 5:45 PM ^
I think I remember a study done on how well the top recruiting services fared over an extended period of time, and ESPN was the worst in football, but the best in basketball.
November 3rd, 2011 at 5:53 PM ^
Interesting. I knew they were terrible at football.
November 3rd, 2011 at 8:08 PM ^
And also, they were the only recruiting service to give Timmy some love, putting him just inside their top 100 that class. Just one guy, but still....
November 3rd, 2011 at 5:46 PM ^
Can you imagine. A top five recruiting class for basketball, football and prob for hockey too. Good Times y'all.

Interesting that UM's #5 when they have GRIII ranked far lower than other services (ESPN has him at 94 where I saw him ranked #37 elsewhere).
November 3rd, 2011 at 6:02 PM ^
It was a misprint in the article. He is rated 94 in their system, but is 52nd overall out of every prospect.
November 3rd, 2011 at 5:57 PM ^
I didn't know that Max Bielfeldt was also on his AAU team.
I'm starting to get excited for the basketball season to roll around as well as finishing strong in B1G play.
November 3rd, 2011 at 5:57 PM ^
The Write up is good enough, but I'm surprised Robinson (and Stauskas) are rated so low. This doesn't seem consistent with what I've seen elsewhere.
November 3rd, 2011 at 6:05 PM ^
"94' is his rating, not his rank. He's ranked 54th to ESPN, which is still a bit lower than Rivals/Scout.

Compared to the buzz going into the tourney...that dosen't compared to what occured a hour or so...that was CRAZY! The board literally BLEW UP. The buzz was unmistakable leading up to Mitch feelin blue. Glad I got to share it with so many mgousers...
November 3rd, 2011 at 6:20 PM ^
This shows that he probably plans on being at Michigan at least two years, and that he thinks there is enough talent in Ann Arbor to win it all.
Plus, I think we can be national title contenders my first year with all of the talent we'll have. I'm excited.

A program changer...other kids will be taking notice.
November 3rd, 2011 at 6:05 PM ^
If we can somehow redshirt Carlton (unlikely) and Max (maybe) then we could have the new Fab Five coming in 2012! With three of them having played together already, WOW! Just let me dream...

"Chris Webber was ranked #1, Juwan Howard was ranked #3, Jalen Rose was ranked #6, Jimmy King was ranked #9, and Ray Jackson was ranked #84. "

If we reeled in a class like that now a days, the athletic program would owe me a couple new pairs of boxers after pissing myself in excitement
November 3rd, 2011 at 6:22 PM ^
Not to quibble, but Chris Webber techically doesn't exist in the record book. It's still going to be tough to beat 3,6,9, and 84, though.
This class will ulitimately be a lot better because it will actually have a bunch of wins on its record when it is all said and done.
November 3rd, 2011 at 7:13 PM ^
In that case will be 2,5,8 and 83.

"Remember that one time we had that really good basketball recruiting class....yeah that was awesome"
A tribute to Chris Farley and my excitement over this class!!! Go blue!
November 3rd, 2011 at 6:16 PM ^
Michigan will be in the Final Four next season. GO BLUE!!!
November 3rd, 2011 at 6:34 PM ^
My favorite part of the ESPNU broadcast was when the ESPN guy asked Micth what he would bring to Michigan, obviously referring to his basketball skills, and he said "a National Championship". That made me laugh, in a good way.
November 3rd, 2011 at 7:10 PM ^
They had this one queued up all day...they knew.
Guessing Coach K isn't smiling too much right about now - they aren't even on the Top-25 list.
November 3rd, 2011 at 7:12 PM ^
a no show in the top 15. Hmmmm.
November 3rd, 2011 at 7:25 PM ^
Whoa - NC State has the #2 class? Are they going to finally return to prominence?
My fear for a long time was that Michigan basketball would become another NCSU. The Wolfpack won national titles in 1974 and 1983, then faded. For the last 20-some years they've seemed permanently behind Duke and UNC in the ACC pecking order. Maybe that will finally change.
