E.J. Scott, Bobby Swigert

Submitted by MaizeAndBlueWahoo on
This is off a pay article at Rivals about E.J. Scott so if it crosses the fair use line, sorry. "Another school is starting to show increased interest in Scott, although it has yet to offer him a scholarship. 'Michigan is showing more interest. They have been talking to me and telling me that they like what they have seen.'" Scott is a receiver. I don't get it. Rivals kind of lowballed his ranking as compared to his offer list (a decent collection of second-tier BCS schools), but still. And ESPN reports we've also offered Bobby Swigert, who's got MAC offers up the wazoo, plus IU and CU. I guess what I'm getting at is this: clearly RR is not even close to done offering WRs. I get the need to hoard athletes, and I realize this doesn't mean we're not going after other positions, and yes I further realize there has been much bilateral flapping of arms over this already but damn. Didn't we think we were done collecting WRs after Dileo committed? Any guesses as to when we stop?

we never stop. The plan is to take all of the recievers in the nation muhahahaha. (So then we will have them all an everyone else will have to have defensive players play offense and cause them to suck...) But seriously I have no idea what RR is doing as far as recruiting all of these Wide outs. Possibly moving quite a few to defense. Another possibility is that this is a very deep class at WR so we are stocking up in anticipation for down years. I have no idea really just throwing out some ideas....

He has a new offense in the making....no more read option. If I had to guess, he will some how find a way to place seven receivers out there at once.

...has a feeling about the commitment of a couple of his current WR commits that is requiring him to continue recruiting wideouts.

Also, some of these guys will switch to defense. Swigert is a pretty good looking receiver, by the way. However, I see him playing DB at the next level. He's just a good athlete.
