Devin Gardner

Submitted by TomVH on
Devin Gardner just threw 2 TD passes and ran for 3 in his game this weekend. He's got 41 total on the year, 22 passing and 19 rushing. He's also about 6' 4" tall. Watch out.

So with his ht / wt combo, ability to run and pass, are we looking at a Terell Pryor clone?

(start sarcasm) I don't know if we could get him to even take a visit on campus though with that tremendous in-state recruiter, friend to mankind, and candidate for sainthood, THE Mark Dantonio at Michigan St (end sarcasm)

Gardner has stated many times he wants to goto USC. i say we offer Cameron Gordon his HS teammate a scholarship in hopes that it could lure Gardner. But if we don't get Gardner we need to get Robert Bolden outta OL St. Marys. he's another stud and top 2010 dual-threat QB. one of the 2 is all that is necessary. Bolden is also 6'4, basically an identical physical make-up to Gardner. Also, Bolden looks scary idential to Pryor.

we might be in perfect position to sneak in and get Robert Bolden too. If Devin Gardner keeps getting all the attention hopefully we can pull in Bolden.

Gardner is not playing QB at USC, they arleady have the best QB in the nation this year and he will have four years of elgibility when Gardner gets there.

Too much can happen (assuming Gardner goes to USC, of course):

  • Gardner might be better than advertised, or the other guy worse
  • The other guy might get hurt
  • The other guy may opt for the draft after 3 years as a starter, leaving Gardner with a year (or two with a red shirt) as starter

I'm not saying he's going to USC, I actually don't even think they've offered him. I'm just not sure how it will play out for us. He hasn't gotten as much attention as he will start to get this summer, and next year. He's going to start hearing from a lot of schools. I agree with you on USC though.

TomVH is there anyway you can be an interview with both Gardner and Bolden? I'd like to hear what their impressions of both UofM and the recruitment process they've seen so far.

Thanks! Go Blue!

I'm already ahead of you. I've just got some more relevant ones for this season coming up, but yes I will get that on here soon.
