I'd suspect this is a good opportunity for him to showcase his talents and hopefully still play in Ann Arbor for a year, but I wouldn't blame people for getting doom vibes

A G League camp invite probably isn’t going to be enough to entice him from Michigan.  That would just mean he might ultimately get drafted as an unaffiliated player on a G-League club.  The parent team of the G-League team would obviously prioritize developing and showcasing those 3-5 players on every G-League roster they do have something control over.

If he gets a draft promise, he should absolutely leave, and power to him if he does.  Seems unlikely to me that he would, but not it’s certainly not impossible.

My scalding hot take: he'd get better development in the G League than college. But he'd get better exposure in college. So, yeah. If he's getting good words from the NBA, go for it. Otherwise, come to Michigan and prepare yourself for celebratory water bottle fights in the locker room.

Good for DeVante and if he does well at the G League camp, he might get invited to the NBA Draft Combine. If he doesn’t get the NBA combine invite then he’ll definitely be with us next season.

I love this young man's game. He and Brooks would make a most dynamic guard tandem. While I would be most pleased to have him don the maize and blue he is not obligated to make me happy.
