Matty Beniers has been in 3rd place all week but is now within striking range of 2nd place Ben Meyers of Minnesota.

When JWG Wolverine posted the first Hobey Vote thread early this week Matty was roughly 80 votes behind 2nd place Meyers.

Two days ago he was behind by 65 votes and by yesterday the margin had shrunk to 29 votes, but when I checked this morning the margin had widened slightly to 40.

Four things to note:

1) The vote totals are only updated at midnight.

2) We have two players (Luke Hughes and Beniers) splitting the Michigan vote while the skaters in 1st and 2nd are the sole representatives of their respective schools. The kid out of UMass right now has a sizeable lead, in 1st place of the 10 candidates @ 32% ( but he was at 39% just a few days ago), Matty is in 3rd w/19% while Luke is in 4th @ 10% but VERY unlikely to move up any higher.

3) This round of the vote ends at midnight on the 27th, so there's still time for Matty to make a surge if we get out the vote!

4) The top 3 vote-getters then move on to the final round.

Please hop on the Beniers Bandwagon, the MGoBoard has the numbers to do it, but this means taking no days off and voting once EACH AND EVERY DAY.
