Dantonio Restructures Contract
Article about Dantonio's contract revisions (linked below) basically says he maintains his current salary ($618,00/year). However, if he stays at MSU until 2016, he'll end up averaging 1.8 million a year. Apparently his contract will start to escalate at some point. Also, Dantonio will get a 2 million dollar bonus in that final year (2016).
Not sure I've seen anything like this.

Also, it looks like he's constipated all the time.

I don't know if he looks constipated. But he does look a bit like he's addicted to Percocet. He's got the baggy eyes.

This is basically a Cover Your Ass restructuring by the athletic department. A $1.8 million per year average will prevent MAC teams and WAC teams from scooping him up, but that amount is not significant compared to annual salaries paid by big boy colleges these days. Now, if he leaves, the AD can say "Look, I tried to keep him." What I want to know is if there is a significant penalty in place (say $4,000,000) to prevent him from walking out the door? If not, then I doubt this contract will hold him in the long run.

They gave Izzo a similar deal, except that the bonus for staying at MSU was like $5 million.
