CWS: Day Two... There's rain.

For those that may casually follow the College World Series, you may have noticed a lack of coverage today. For one, there was a 4 hour rain delay before the games got started. Then, after 5 innings into game one, there was another. Rain and lightning got so bad that there might be 200 people in the stands out of the 23,000+ that started the game. It looks like Olympic Stadium in Montreal before the move it's so empty.

Anyway, Oklahoma (BOOO!) is up 4-2 on South Carolina (SEC BOOO!) in the 8th right now, and the late game isn't going to happen. They plan to have a triple header tomorrow, with Clemson and Arizona State (tonight's no longer late game) going at 10am local, 11am ET.

After that game, then the Day 3 games will get underway. Florida State and Florida are in an elimination game while TCU and UCLA have the night cap in the winner's bracket.

Also worth noting, this kid for Oklahoma has a rocking mullet. I'll try and get pictures later. It's out of control, and it's also the source of his tremendous hitting tonight.

And OU pulls out the win 4-3. South Carolina loaded the bases in the 8th and 9th, only could get one run out of it. Too bad there were so many delays. The game only took 2 hours and 53 minutes. The over 6 hours of rain delays were a killer. Players were getting soaked to end the game.

Would have been a night to be a heckler in Omaha. The empty crowd would have made everything you yelled be clear as day on ESPN.
