Crazy idea with Schofield

You can never predict when someone rolls up your ankle (e.g. Jake in practice) or another injury happens. 3 DTs is really lean, even with everyone healthy just with game substitution to give them a rest. If you get down to 2 guys due to an injury, I would think opposing coaches would pound the ball to wear those guys down or make them switch to a 3-3-5 (may or may not work out) or make us move players around. In the interest of depth, you could move Ferrara back. That could be the best option. You have Helmuth trying the position, I have now idea how he will do there. You could try LaLota, but he just started playing as a defensive end and not sure how defensive tackle would work. You also have Schofield who played both ways in HS and was a pretty decent defensive tackle according to his coach. In an ideal world, Schofield keeps his redshirt and helps us build our dominating o-line. I'm just saying though. Thoughts from the gallery?

Campbell, Sagesse, Martin and Helmuth at DT for sure. If Ferrara moves back thats 5. Schofield will never see a snap as DT. I just hope none of those guys get injured or totally suck.

Stop it already. Our defensive tackles are our defensive tackles. Period. End of story. The only OL who has a chance of moving to the defensive line is Ferrara, and that's not likely. You don't take a starting offensive lineman and make him your fourth DT, especially when #1 and #2 are youngsters. That would only happen if someone gets injured.
