Four year deal, worth $3.455 million, with around a $160k signing bonus. That is no small chunk of change. Hope he can take advantage of the opportunity, carve out a spot in that secondary, and work his way to the next contract.

Good for Josh.

Somewhere, Maizen's head is exploding a little as he reviews the list of 2016 4-star defensive back recruits that weren't drafted instead of 3-star Josh Metellus (who I believe was a 2-star when he committed to Michigan).

It would be nice to get more Top 100 guys, but Michigan has done a nice job of player development in several instances.

Wait, are you suggesting that guys who work for a subscription based website, who have no real football coaching or playing experience, and rank kids based off of their highlight tapes maybe aren't that great as talent evaluators?

It's a money game. Kids go up and down in the rankings without any new information available. I'm convinced some of these guys don't know any more than the rest of us. It's not that hard to point at the obvious 5 star types and get a hit. The rankings are basically a wash outside of the very top recruits. There's no rationale behind the Bama bump other than, "he committed to Bama, so he's clearly better than we thought." That's not scouting.

Timmay Brando - the worst of the worst college announcers.  Nails on a chalkboard to me.

It's hilarious that the referenced story has a picture of Cam McGrone rather than Josh.
