It cant be all positive out of camp, right?

Jay Harbaugh and Mike Zordich talked to the media today.

Positive:  Jay highlights we have 4 RBs that can be in on 3rd downs.  Says that is unusual and a big positive for the team.  Isaac is most improved in pass pro, but all the guys have stepped up pass pro.

Negative: Zordich is not happy that one of the corner spots has not been locked down.  He said that Lavert Hill answered the bell and has stepped up his game.  It sounds like he has one of the spots locked down.  The 2nd spot has not been grabbed.  He seemed pretty negative for the entirety of the presser.  He knows they have the ability, but someone needs to step up before Florida.

hit it right on the head. i don`t ever want to hear again how great practice was. if every player on this team was an all-american someone is going to get the better of someone on the other side. go listen to saban or meyer. those guys are never happy because their standards are so high they want perfection and greatness.

Spoken like someone who has been on a team.  This is 100% correct, although Zordich may be telling you how he really feels.  Either way, he wants improvment, like you would think he would regardless of perfornance thus far.

We'll see how they do in the games.  I have never been a big believer in "we practiced well".  You have to be a gamer too, even if you practice well.

i coached at many different levels of football and had alot of teams that early on in the process looked inconsistent and average, but once we started scrimmaging and playing other teams, we discovered we were outstanding. we basically were the only ones that could make us look bad.

this is the reason great coaches are so hard on their teams, you really don`t know for sure what you have till you go up against players that your team hasn`t played yet.
