I don't know, but Christian Green has said recently that he might be leaning towards playing receiver. If that's true, then he's probably seen 3 commit to Michigan, and might be looking elsewhere to see what else is out there.

I still don't understand the whole Nick Montana obsession with Tressell. I couldn't understand why Tressell would offer Green at QB but not Gardner. If Green is being offered at WR than that would make more sense.

Joe Montana has built a good relationship with Tressel. He wants his son to go there than ND.

I just don't understand how you can go from Terrell Pryor to Nick Montana. Going from Terrell Pryor to Devin Gardner seems like a dream transition. The fact that Tressell has such a hard on for Montana makes me feel like Tressell isn't sold on Pryor's passing ability. All speculation here but good forum conversation.

I have not seen this Montana kid play but can imagine from who his Dad is that there is some serious talent within this kid. If he is a pro style offense QB I would say that Sweatervest is trying to get away from the spread or is just really unhappy with TP's ability to throw. I think that ND would be the better fit for him if he runs a pro style but that has not done much for Claussen so I guess I can see Montana Sr.'s point about going to tO$U. I hope the kid goes to LSU just to shut the old Sweatervest up.

I would have to think that Tressel isn't happy about Pryor's passing game. Yeah the kid had a good efficiency number, but he didn't even throw enough passes to get himself ranked nationally in the category. Nick Montana is a much better fit in Tressel's offense. I don't think that Tressel really wants to run a spread offense, but when you have Pryor, you have to. Remember, OSU didn't score an offensive touchdown in 3 different games last year. One of those games was vs. Purdue, a team that our sorry offense managed to put 42 points on.

Why does everyone assume that Nick Montana is such a better passer than Pryor? Because his dad was good? Because he's white? Remember Michael Jordan's son didn't get any major offers for basketball.
Nick Montana is listed as a Dual Threat QB by Rivals. They don't even have him in their 250 to watch list. He might be a 4 star still, but probably not a high 4. I'm sure Tressel has his reasons here, but saying that they are trying to get away from Pryor seems silly, unless someone has a decent reason other than they think (based on nothing) that Nick Montana has a good arm and Pryor doesn't.

I'm certainly not saying he won't be a good QB or that he's a bad prospect. But many of the assertions made by posters above have no basis in anything.
I was more pointing to the fact that a few people asserted that he's a better passer than Pryor and that Tressel is bringing him in to go back to a pro-style set. The first one has no evidence behind it and the second one actually has evidence against it (Montana listed as a dual threat QB).

I have thought all along that Pryor is being wasted in Tressel's offense. I think Tressel is so deeply entrenched in the pro set mentality that all he wants a QB to have speed for is to be able to get away when plays break down.
Tressel really needs a pure thrower in his offense, and Pryor doesn't fit. Tressel really screwed up when he jettisoned senior QB Boeckman for Pryor. I hope it creates dissension in the locker room. I also hope it is an indication that once RR gets his personnel straight, the pendulum will swing in UM's direction in the rivalry and stay there as long as Tressel is at OSU.
It would be great to see Tressel do a Lloyd Carr and stay a few years too long after the game passes him by. If we are lucky, Tressel will stay long enough to turn his gaudy record against UM into a .500 record. If we're really lucky, he will stay around long enough to get caught and see his program put on probation.

and I hate them as much as the next guy, but really can we stop with the whole, "Tressel cheats and he will be caught eventually." I can only think of one glaring instance, Troy Smith's greasy palm, in the context of breaking NCAA rules. Tressel took care of that, and it may have cost them a game against the eventual national champion, but that is debatable. Despite numerous off the field issues regarding his athletes (a la Boone) the only chatter I hear about them cheating comes from Michigan fans. Again, I hate OSU as much as the next guy but aren't we above the whole "the only reason they are good is because they cheat."

Tressel visited RR when he was at WVU. Tressel is going to be running a lot more of the Troy Smith type spread.

Nick Montana is simply a depth player. OSU is waiting on Braxton Miller, who will be a top 10 player in the '11 class; he has already been offered and will commit on first possibly day that '11 recruits can commit. People need to drop the idea that Pryor sucks as a passer. He was a true freshman last year; he will be a nightmare for us for at least the next 2 years. Quit worrying about Pryor and start hoping that Michigan can start winning games again.
