chris evans

I seem to remember that Chris Evans was going to appeal his academic suspension in May so that he could return to school in one year instead of two, Does anyone know anything about this?

As far as I know, he has a ton of work to to over the summer to get back in standing with the U.  Even then, he will have to get a consideration to get allowed back into school.  If I recall correctly, which sometimes I do not, he will not know until close to fall camp or after.

Also, he has been a very good Captain America, as noted above.

I'm not sure if the two people are related or not, but one never knows.

When are you all going to stop making shit threads with shit titles?

Just take away thread making power...let them post, but "justin feagin" was 11 years ago!

Stupid me for clicking thinking I was going to get a valuable update...nope, this guy is asking a message board for an update to an internal disciplinary matter.

Well, the "Justin Feagin" thread didn't go so well either all those years ago, and we do like to think that, at times, we set ourselves apart with the creativity and research skills of our users around here. Long story short, there is - well, was at one time - an expectation.

Seriously, Justin Feagin. Someone who has been here five years should know better. Also if there were any updates on the Evans situation it would have been posted. I think we are all rooting for him to get reinstated, but I wouldn't hold my breath that he is going to play this fall.

Let me ask the obvious question. Why is the future of Chris Evans so important? Do people ask about the future of the backup safety?

What has Chris Evans done that makes him irreplaceable? Was he all Big Ten or was he a pre season all American?

I don't think I've ever run into a UM football player who gets more ink on this blog for basically being a role player. Poole I understand. He was a regular starter and had potential. Peters got way too much ink but again he was supposed to be a great qb and had the physical measurables to succeed. Evans was a 3 star guy and isn't particularly big or fast and had a nice late run against FSU and suddenly he is Barry Sanders?

Guy would be at best a 3rd string UM running back now. At best. He was passed up on the depth chart by a guy who didn't even get drafted in the NFL.

Evans was at his best as a change of pace scat back as a freshman. He never had top end speed (Higdon actually was much faster than him) but he got to top speed almost instantaneously. The staff then inexplicably had him put on 20 pounds where he lost some of that burst to go along with his already pedestrian 4.6 top end speed.

Chris does have decent vision and quick feet in the open field. He looked like a great weapon bs OSU as a sophomore, but this past season he looked honestly below Tru in his overall ability.

If he comes back, he can be used as a good scat back who can be used in the open field to spell Turner and Charbonnet.

At the end of March the article below indicated he would know his date in a couple of weeks from that time.   I don’t know what to make of that timetable apparently not being met

His appeal will go before a committee board of four students and four faculty. The University is expected to reply in two weeks. Evans could be allowed to return to school in May if the suspension is cut to half a year, or he will have to wait for reinstatement next January. Michigan coach Jim Harbaugh last week confirmed Evans could work his way back to the team.

But really when we saw the "chris evans" title, without even the time or consideration to capitalize his name, was anyone expecting more than this?  I just clicked to see who would be the first to post the "we do, we just aren't telling you" joke.

Did he create an alternate timeline? I believe he did but I've heard mixed opinions.

Yes, this is a bad, bad, non-informative thread title. You could have said? When is Chris Evans likely to hear his status? Or any number of other things about Chris Evans. But just his name? Smh.

Oh, that's it. Chris Evans was misused or they bulked him up but the reason he hasn't excelled isn't because of his average talent, no it's the coaches.

I see. So why did they bulk him up? They wanted him to be an everyday back instead of a 3rd down back. So he is a 3rd down back so clearly he isn't that valuable. Or is he a slot wr?

Chris Evans is just not that talented and since there are star gazers on this board, how do you explain his 3 star ranking. Evans is your typical hybrid back. Good at everything and not great at anything. He is depth unless if there is a big game against IU or Minnesota where he can play against lesser talent.

I come from the Jimmy Johnson school of football assessment. Show me the production. He did have some great runs against PSU and RU last year during the garbage blowout time. You got me there.

I wish the young man well but losing Evans is the equivalent of losing Eli Brooks off the basketball team.

Currently our most experienced back has 62 carries in his career but Chris Evans is replaceable? lol

Chris Evans would be #1 back on the depth chart the moment he’s reinstated. Tru is a solid pass protector but is a fairly limited athlete/runner. He will run hard and get every yard he can. CT has 1 nice run in garbage time and a long run called back in the bowl game . Zach hasn’t played a snap and as a Michigan fan you should probably wait and see if he’s actually good before anointing him.

FR G 13 Att 88 YDS 614 YPC 7.0  TDs 4

SO G 13 Att 135 YDS 685 YPC 5.1 TDs 6

JR G 10 Att 81 YDS 423 YPC 5.2 TDs 4

If he hadn’t missed 3 games this year his numbers would have been very similar to his sophomore years stats. Lets not downplay him and make it seem like he hasn’t been a very productive player since he’s stepped foot on campus.
