Official times are 4.58 for Rashan and 4.59 for Chase. Both seem to be making money today.

Rashan's is exactly the same as that hand-timed 40 reported from practice a while back that made everyone say "no way". Dude is a genetic freak.

Update: Rashan and Chase officially the 3rd and 4th fastest DL at the combine, respectively.

Chase definitely won't make it out of Day 2. I can see the Pats taking him honestly.

I'd be interested to see if Rashan could test so well that he moves past Bosa. Probably not, but if the Cardinals go with Murray instead of a DL with the top pick, it shakes some things up. Quinnen Williams is probably next to SF, then NYJ and Oakland have to pick between Gary, Bosa, and Allen.

I think people may be disappointed with how far Gary falls.  This is a very deep draft for pass rushers, and there are a lot of guys that people are looking at ahead of him.  Speed is fine, but, as noted, Gary's actual on-field production was not eye-popping.  Someone may think he's a perfect fit for them, and grab him early, but I can easily see him dropping to late in the first round.

Only Bosa and Allen are consistently being talked about above Rashan, and nearly every team in the top ten has a DL need. Not that mock drafts are the best indicators, but nearly every single one has him at 4 to Oakland, and the lowest I've seen is at 12 to Green Bay (from Walter Football, the least reputable of the various mocks). The "production" line is not a serious thing.

You have to really, really want to be a contrarian to think Rashan is getting out of the top ten. It's just not based in reality. He won't get past the Lions at 8.

It's more that he seemed like a guy who plays faster than he would rep at a combine; there are guys who run much better in shorts and track shoes than full pads.  I sort of assumed Chase would put up a time closer to Bosa's, maybe in the 4.7 range.  Not slow, but 4.59 is one of the better numbers an edge rusher has put up in the past couple of years.

Gary is creating his own representation entity/firm. He is going to be a multi-billionaire in ten years. The player career is for glory. I'm excited to see what this kid does off of the field.

You are a gifted debater. Your command of the English language is commendable. God I wish I could be more like you. My brain, sadly, produces the large colon's end product, pre-sphincter. Doctors are baffled, but alas, it's my condition, so I'm trying to adapt. And yes, the physical product directly effects the metaphorical thought pattern. It would be funny if it were not so sad, and stinky. The brain perceiving its own wretched filth is the very foundation of irony, not that I even know what the means.

At his peak, Tiger was pulling in $100 million a year, having associated/branded himself with top performance (e.g. watches).

I'm not an advertising guy, and I chuckled that wealthy folk could apparently be so easily influenced by having his name slapped on a product/service, but he sure got paid for it until he became associated with how to lose an absolutely gorgeous wife for some so-so looking conquests.

This will be interesting.  I am not sure LeBron has the staying power of Jordan in terms of merchandise, the Jordan brand is truly one of a kind.  That said, LeBron has made some non basketball deals that have done him very well.  The question is were those deals luck and being right place right time, or good business sense.  One is sustainable, one is not.
