OMIGOD YOU GUYS!!!!

I just got confirmation that we'll be having Cazzie Russell(!!!!) live with us at the Bo Store tomorrow evening!

He's in town tonight in fact--having dinner at the Chop House--for a public event with friend of the blog Martin Vloet for their Michigan Stadium Products basketball line. There ARE a few seats left at Cazzie's table tonight if you want in. Here, he sent me a flier and some info:

This was all Martin putting it together for us. Michigan Stadium Products recently announced a line of Crisler Arena products made from the original 1967 maple playing floor at "the house that Cazzie built.” To celebrate, he's bringing Cazzie to Ann Arbor for Homecoming.

There will be a public autograph signing on Friday, Oct. 4, at the Hyatt Place, Ann Arbor, and as mentioned he'll be on MGoRadio at 5pm at the Bo Store just before that (he can't stay to talk after, sorry).

Two things:

1.   I want that picture of Cazzie in his varsity jacket overseeing the house that Cazzie built.   Definite man-cave wall material there.

2.   I would so spend $133 to have dinner with him.    And now I regret turning down those Iowa tickets and travel to Ann Arbor this weekend because I am "too busy".

This man is such a legend.   I hope his dinner partners enjoy the experience.

He was on WTKA with Michael Spath, in studio, this a.m.  A couple of his stories:

1.  Apparently, when he committed to Michigan he had never even seen the place where he'd be playing - Yost Field House.  He didn't go into it until he arrived on campus his freshman year.  When he walked in, he saw a dirt floor.  The basketball floor was portable and would be put in place when needed apparently.

2.  His first basketball game for Michigan was against Ball State, where he scored 30 points!  At one point, he dunked the ball in the game, and found out he wasn't allowed to do it.

BEAVERS play like champions.

#BEAVER STRONG

#BEAVER UP

#BEAVER  ON

The BEAVERS will start it off with VICTORY .

 The Wolverines will follow suit.

Do not fear the BEAVER , if you do not understand the BEAVER .

Wish I could go. I live in Denver and don't have access to a private jet...sigh. Cazzie is my boyhood hero and the reason I became a Michigan fan/man. I love that pic, it reminds of watching him on our family's black and white TV.

Can't wait. I've got a 16x20 of a dunk from the 1965 MSU game at Yost Field House that I'm gonna have him sign.
