You can even look up the box score and this is still the stat of the game, folks:

"The 303 total penalty minutes shatters the old mark of 268, set by the BU and Maine men's teams in 2004."

When there are five hours and three minutes of penalty minutes, that's impressive regardless in my opinion.

This isn't an 'Only in Ohio' moment since bench-clearing brawls aren't exactly unheard of in hockey. It actually looks like Bemidji is most at fault as most of their team immediately skated over to the action and the Buckeyes only followed after

It is pretty awesome that each team was only able to dress two lines the next night. I imagine nobody was skating very hard or everyone would've passed out from exhaustion by the 1st intermission

Wow. Like how do you guys do this? I find out news about my Alma Mater faster from this site than I do from anywhere else. Tatgate, Carlos Hyde and now hockey brawl. Guess I'll continue to come here for all the latest coverage on OSU, no matter how insignificant, coming out of Columbus.

This has nothing to do with anything but I met some of the girls on that team once. They were in Ann Arbor and had just parked in the Maynard, and I was delivering a stack of HTTV football books and we walked out of the structure together. They all had warmup gear on and were sneering at pretty much everything, which: yes we do that in Columbus. They asked if I went to Michigan and I told them I graduated a decade ago, and they asked for directions to Main Street.

This gives me zero insight whatsoever into that fight.

Hilariously, the Ohio State men's hockey team played there up until 1998 (and it has been renovated since then; the playing surface used to be smaller).

Because Value City Arena was being used for a high school event, the men's hockey team played their CCHA playoff series against Ferris State there last year, with attendances of 731, 860 and 628 for the 3-game series.
