Bowl Game Ticket Application

I'm filling out an application for bowl tickets.  The application allows you to select from all the bowls.  The priority access last until Dec.4, the day of the B1G Championship game.  It looks like any bowl tickets you select are commitments to buy.

If we want to get tickets to a possible CFP semifinal game, that Michigan could be involved in, are we really expected to buy tickets to both semifinal bowls?  If we make it to the playoffs, there's no way of knowing, before Dec. 4, which bowl game we'd go to.

Am I missing something or are we just expected to gamble and pick the game we think they might get into?

I read it as you say which ones you're willing to buy and that commits you to buying them, but only if Michigan is actually in the game. I don't think UM will have access to tickets to a game Michigan isn't playing in.

You get the tickets to Michigan’s post-season game. You’re just deciding which ones you’d like to attend if Michigan plays in that particular game. The Athletic Department is not allotted tickets to other bowl games (e.g. Sparty v Cincinnati).

Interesting.  I had no idea.

Cotton bowl is Cowboys field and is turf.  Orange bowl is Dolphins field and is grass.  If I were the #1 team I would pick the turf field as you aren't subject to possible bad weather/sloppy turf that helps the underdog.

IDK.  But I went all in for the Rose Bowl for 3 tickets.  I haven't been to one since 1989 and I'm not passing up this opportunity.  It's the best of the bowl experiences IMO.  If I don't get tickets because Michigan got into the CFP, so be it.  That's great too.
