Blake Griffin is the best college prospect since...
Since Tim Duncan in 97. Players like this are few and far between. I recall being at the Palace for the NBA draft when Weber went for Penny and 3#1s. Greg Oden I like but I like Griffin more. Kenyon Martin was similar in 2000 but I think he had a broken leg. Lebron, Howard, Stoudamire, Koby among others never played college ball.
The Tim Duncan comparison is interesting. Now, if only the Pistons would've started tanking the season a little earlier like San Antonio did during the '96-'97 season, they might have been able to give themselves a legit shot at Griffin.
In '96-97, the Pistons went 54-28. Teams at that level don't tank.
Um,
What I was saying was I want this year's Pistons to tank the season just like the Spurs did back in 96-97. That way, they would have a crack at Griffin.
David Robinson suffered a season-ending injury in the preseason that year. How were the Pistons supposed to emulate that method of "tanking"?

By trading for Allen Iverson.
No I gotcha, its just there is a good chance he will be on the Wizards next year
I know I flipped on the Pistons tonight and thought what a huge addition Griffin would be for the Wizards with their good perimeter players
I wouldn't say best prospect since Duncan though. I'm not so sure he wouldn't go third in 2007 or 2nd in 2008, behind Oden, Durant, and Rose. Oden, obviously, has injury problems, which is a shame, but Durant is showing that he can be an explosive scorer all over the court and Rose is one of the most athletic point guards the NBA has seen in awhile. Still, its close, as physically dominant almost isn't strong enough to describe his play in college.
He's so strong he is able to power through 6'4" Novak!
I really like Derrick Rose as well, Maybe the fact that nobody seems a close second makes me biased, but Griffin's size, strength, and agressiveness are unique.
No, since jerry west and wilt chamberlin.
Hes the only person to get 90 pts and 44 boards in first 3 tournament games since them.
Iknow now I know now, he reminds me of Young Shawn Kemp. I also liked the big kid Humphrey, from Minnesota a few years back, he was more like Blake's little brother
Let's just hope that Blake Griffin knows how to use a condom.
(Unlike Shawn Kemp)

Can't nothin' stop Shawn Kemp.
Griffin is what, 6'9"? I wouldn't rank him as a higher prospect than Oden was two years ago. (The fact that the current post-injury Oden isn't that good doesn't change the fact that he was considered one of the best center prospects ever.)
LIKE WHEN HE HEADBUTTED THE BACKBOARD!
....Tim Duncan and Blake Griffin that were pretty darn good
"college prospects" too (without the hindsight of their professional careers)....
Paul Pierce
Vince Carter
Raef LaFrentz
Elton Brand
Lamar Odom
Shane Battier
Wally ZZZZZZZZZZZZZZerbiak
Jay Williams
Drew Gooden
Carmelo Anthony
Dwyane Wade
Kevin Durant
Derrick Rose
and of course, Ndudi Ebe.
Most of the guys on your list we can scratch off right away. 2 of the best Wade & Carmelo were taken after Darko.

...you can scratch Ndudi Ebe.

admittedly I had to Google Ndudi Ebi. I'm willing to call it a draw

Surprised he didn't break the backboard when he hit it. Griffin would be the greatest prospect ever if he played in the greater Chapel Hill Durham area.

Kevin Durant > Blake Griffin.
Note that I bet a buddy a trip to Vegas (all expenses paid except gambling losses) that KD would be better in the pros than Oden.
I would like to see Griffin put up the numbers KD has in his first two years. Could he be ultimately better? Yes. But with all the wear and tear he takes, I doubt it.
Kevin Durant is destined to become the league's second best player behind LeBron, and maybe the most lethal scorer since Kobe. Griffin is a solid prospect, but he won't be as good as Durant

Also anyone who spells Kobe as "Koby" has to automatically be discredited. Sorry buddy, hopefully 8th grade is more fun than 7th!
dang it anyway I knew something wasn't quite right
Funny you should think that, my daughter is in 7th grade and let me tell you it ain't that easy
