Looks like we get our nemesis, Ohio State just put in an empty netter to go up 3-1 over PSU.  Sparty up 2-1 on ND midway through the game.

State scores an ENG from their own goal line.  Looks like they're off to Minneapolis and Minnesota gets the easier option.  Gophers swept them and outscored them 25-6.

If I lived within 5 hrs of AA I would be there Saturday.   It's a bit of a haul though from Virginia.   I envy any of you who are going, should be a blast!

It's the NCAA so who knows but after they rack and stack according to RPI, and deconflict for first round conference matchups, they are supposed to (I say supposed because you cannot trust the NCAA to live up to their word) consider the potential for minimizing travel when placing teams.

The NCAA hockey committee has been pretty good in following what they say, but they protect the overall #1 seed before the other number one seeds. Uscho's last bracketology had Minnesota in Fargo, Quinnipiac in Bridgeport, Denver in Manchester and Michigan in Allentown.

It will change this week of course.

They're trading off attendance vs closer to campus, I think.  Anyway this week UM will probably be in Manchester, as BU is now the 5-seed, it makes sense to have BU in Manchester for attendance, and they don't have to change the 4-5 bracket integrity.  The only way to guarantee Allentown is to be in PSU's draw and not be the overall #1 seed.

I'm assuming my Alaska Nanooks make the final 16, (sitting at 13 PWR) though they're independent. So no conference playoffs. Would love to see them in the playoffs - been years. And they have a tough goalkeep, which is the main reason they're in the mix.
