Basketball...

Basketball gets underway tonight, and personally I'm excited.  it has nothing to do with football's record, it will always be #1 for me, but I'm very interested to see the improvement from year one to year two. 

BigTenNetwork.com streams the game live, which is great for us in the great white north.

I saw incremental progress last year, and am looking forward to seeing what Beilein's offense will look like with players having had more time to learn it.  I also am curious to see if our shooting improves as that something that Beilein is known for.

a while since I had much hope for basketball, but I feel like we are headed in the right direction. As  long as there is improvement on the court and in the win/loss column, I will be very happy. Go Blue!

But, i have been following Johnson's career for a long time now, even dating back to his days at Georgia Southern. Navy was a point spread monster during his tenure. Sorry, but I like that and coaches who exceed the "experts in the desert's" opinion.

All I wanted was UM to do a true national search--as opposed to promoting within or just giving the job to an alum--because there are awesome coaches all over the place.

 Paul Johnson and Jim Grobe were two guys I promoted last winter and most people responded with either a 'who is that' response or discounted them because they doubted they could replicate that success at Michigan. Both would be awesome here......Both are amazing coaches.

Not sure either would be having more success with this year's Michigan's offense, but I feel that the Defense of Michigan would be better than it is now.

Take that assesment for what it is worth.

Epic Fail on my part guys.....seriously, whats worse, that I posted in the wrong thread.....or about the wrong sport.....or that I was trying to comment on a Diary Thread, but ened up in the mgoforum?

Really, take your pick.......i should stop smoking joints in the morning before I go into the office.....lol.

Anyway, yes, I am looking forward to basketball season.

They have a decent chance at breaking .500 in the Big 10.....for sure an NIT team, IMO.

Actually, what's worse is that I never get replies, finally started my first thread, and most of the replies either belonged to another thread or commented on that post belonging to another thread.

I watched, and while the first have was discouraging (the turnovers, bad defending and droughts we all recall from last year), the second half filled me with hope.  They totally blew out SVSU (as one would hope) despite playing mostly  freshmen the final five minutes.

We need Cronin to get healthy and contribute, or else we're going to be really undersized.  It's frustrating that Udoh had to transfer.
