Bacari hires Pete Kahler & Kam Chatman's dad
In an interesting turn of events, Bacari has hired Pete Kahler, the UM video assistant turned director of basketball ops, and Canaan Chatman, Kam Chatman's dad and a now former Nike Elite Youth Basketball Regional Director.
Kahler was one of the video guys during UM's NCAA run if I'm not mistaken. Now both he and Will Vergollo, both behind-the-scenes guys during UM's championship game run, have assistant coach spots.
Another interesting side note - Jermaine Jackson Sr has been retained. He interviewed for the UDM job and didn't get it. Word on the street is that he's got a pretty fiery personality and may be a bit of a handful. Not coincidentally, his son is a 3* guard out of Dakota high school. UM has poked around there a little, but Junior is pretty undersized. Still, he's a very capable scorer, especially if he heads to a place like the Horizon League. Don't be shocked to see two father-son combos at UDM in the future.
out of Harbaugh's get the recruit you want book of recruiting.
Bacari's energy and local roots should help him there. It was always cool to see UDM teams in the tourney filled with kids from the the local high schools .
Good luck to the Chatman family. Maybe having his dad around will help Kam fulfill his potential.
Bacari has a good player to work with
