B1G Ten Hockey Schedule is Live Starting w/UM vs OSU on Oct 20

Submitted by pmorgan on August 28th, 2023 at 2:23 PM

Finally, the B1G has announced the 23-24 hockey schedule. The schedule looks good in terms of timing, with a bi right before the WJC in December and a road game for Thanksgiving (at least for me, I always miss those games).

I wish we had a more robust non-conference schedule though. I'm interested what others think about the strength of schedule: is it better to have a weak one (like Penn State did last season, but it worked since they obliterated the weak teams) or a strong one like Michigan had the past two seasons?

Great information - thank you.

The Michigan @ ND series is the weekend of the B1G CCG - so, heck - perhaps students can take a bus from Ann Arbor to South Bend on Friday afternoon - enjoy a hockey game - and then, head down to Indy (good Lord willing) - to see the Maize and Blue play a football game in Indy on Saturday night.

The ND @ Michigan series is scheduled for the start of Spring Break.

Darn.  No home games at Yost on Michigan Football home weekends this fall.  Looks like I'll have to instead see if there's a couple of combination hockey/hoops weekends instead over the winter months.

I've actually done more of these combo bball/hockey weekends since graduation than I have football ones. Much easier to find decent accommodations that aren't 4 quazillion dollars. Though I'd obviously much prefer the weather of late summer/early fall in AA, it's usually not worth an extra thousand bucks for a 3-4 day trip.

@ St Cloud St is significant. @ UMass probably seemed like it when it was scheduled, but they dropped from 11th in Pairwise to 29th last year. Maybe they'll have a better year? Just not at our expense, plz.

Yeah, St. Cloud is really the only apparent top ten non-con team of the bunch. Very different than last year's Harvard, BU, and Western lineup and the previous year's Minnesota State and Minnesota Duluth (at the Icebreaker tourney), Western, and UMass (when they were ranked #10, though a overrated at the time) lineup.

I hope UMass will improve this year, though not against us - lol! Surprisingly, Scott Morrow is returning and is quite the dynamic defensemen and UMass is bringing in a class of 3 drafted players (Suniev 3rd round, Vantassell 7th round, O'Neill 5th round). Apparently, they brought in a bunch of grad transfers too. Though my guess is that they are on the outside looking into the tournament, who knows how this will shake out for the Minutemen: https://umassathletics.com/news/2023/7/31/vanroboys-added-to-massachusetts-hockey-roster-as-graduate-transfer

I received an email recently stating that season tickets were all sold out. They shared that ticket packs and single-game tickets will both go on sale in the month of September and instructed folks to Sign up for ticket information to be notified when tickets go on sale. Here it is:
