B1G-ACC Matchups being announced, Michigan to host NC State
Jon Rothstein is tweeting them out so there are too any links to include, but the matchups are:
- North Carolina at Iowa
- Purdue at Miami
- Boston College at Minnesota
- Penn State at Virginia Tech
- Louisville at Wisconsin
- Georgia Tech at Nebraska
- Pittsburgh at Northwestern
- Maryland at Clemson
- Syracuse at Rutgers
- Illinois at Duke
- Indiana at FSU
- OSU at Notre Dame
- Michigan St at Virginia
- NC State at Michigan
*The last two he hasn't tweeted out yet but Izzo said earlier today that MSU will be playing Virginia in the Challenge, and Wake Forest is the ACC team not playing this year so that leaves Michigan-NC State as the last matchup. Also Virginia and Michigan are both due home games.

MBB in the title would be nice.

If they are so good, shouldn't izz stain be playing at Duke?

Come on man, you can do better. Both Virginia and MSU won their respective conference titles in 2019, that matchup is essentially #1 vs. #1. So yea, Izzo and MSU earned a bid with Virginia and vice versa.

Makes sense as NCST was one of the other teams in the original Empire Classic

3 Man Weave Preview of the ACC which includes NC State's overview.
Underwhelming draw for Michigan. NC State has been a bubble team the last 3 years and probably will be again this year. Projected to be a borderline top 50 team by Torvik, this is also Michigan's third Challenge matchup with NC State since 2012. Doesn't figure to be one of the marquee or more interesting matchups this year.

that's ok, i'd rather win

We have a young team so this is probably not a bad match-up

We're actually going to have one of the most experienced teams in the country. Seniors who have spent their entire careers at Michigan in Livers, Brooks and Davis. 5th year grad transfers with Brown and Smith. Juniors in Johns and Nunez.
We have a lot of new pieces, and guys who haven't played at Michigan before. But we really won't have a young team.

Nothing has been decided on Brown so we can't use him to identify our upper classmen

How the fuck did we end up with NC State lol
October 29th, 2020 at 6:11 PM ^
It was either them or Syracuse, the only teams just outside their top 4 due for a road game. Of the two, Syracuse plays more ugly games, a perfect match for Rutgers.

I feel like Michigan played NC State 10000 times in the last few years.
October 29th, 2020 at 6:36 PM ^
That definitely makes sense on the last two and not a bad pull this year at all either
October 29th, 2020 at 6:41 PM ^
will be a fun matchup. NC St always has a few NBA/borderline NBA guys.
October 29th, 2020 at 8:04 PM ^
Well this is a shitty draw, we usually get a top 10 team or go on the road. With that, there are a few must see matchups here.

We were a .500 team in conference last year. (10 wins, 10 losses.) Some of those losses should NOT have been losses. So we kind of deserve this draw.

Fun Fact: NC State and Michigan basketball have played one another only 4 times previously and in each of those games the margin of victory was 7 points. Michigan is 3-1 against NC State all-time.
