Avery Horn

Anyone hear how Avery Horn is doing? Fred Jackson was pretty high on him last year, but I haven't read anything about him so far.

In the M Drill you've probably seen referenced in other board topics. So he's healthy and practicing. My guess is that some of his shine has been taken off by McGuffie and Shaw.

he looked awesome in the spring game, was the best RB that day by far (but i'm not sure how often he ran against the first team D). i heard he was having trouble learning the new offense last spring. i'm looking forward to seeing him play this fall.

Everyone who posts the "what about ______?" stuff needs to remember that not everyone will play, not every recruit will be a success, let alone good. If history stands, we won't see roughly 50% of the freshmen we just got receive any appreciable playing time during their entire career.

True enough. But Horn seems like a good fit in the spread. According to Jackson he's one of the fastest kids he's ever seen at Michigan. I don't know what kind of vision he has or how he takes hits, but Jackson's seen some good ones, so Horn interests me.

Yeah, but with Minor and Brown as options 1 and 1A, Grady (when he's done w/ suspension) filling the beer-truck role, and Shaw and McGuffie kicking ass, and running with the second, and occasionally first unit, there's not so much room for Horn. Right now, Rich said that his third unit is getting less and less reps - maybe that includes Horn, as virtually nothing has been said about him.
