Are Omameh and Khoury set with projections to OL?

I seem to recall Omameh being mentioned of either side of the ball, and I thought Khoury too? Any chance either of these guys goes to DE/DT? Maybe since we added more depth this class?

I think the coaching staff would do whatever they can not to switch the guys, especially since they've most likely been learning technique at that position, have developed a relationship with their position coach, and we might be alright at DT for this year. 1 is certainly short of what it should be on the season, but I see it more as a position of need for the next recruiting class. That's just the way I look at it though, and we are riding on thin ice for this season, but I doubt the coaches would feel comfortable with putting a true fresh in unless he's A) A sick recruit and/or B)He's been in AA for more than just a summer... which both fit for Campbell. Whether we're alright at DT or not, I think that moving these guys would be giving up on them as OLs and that might mean a desperate situation with them as athletes in the first place (IMO).

as I recall the discussions of the likely two deep for OL next year have Omameh as a starter and Khoury in the two deep. I find it unlikely that either would move to defense if they have made such a positive impression at OL.

Khoury and Omameh (along with Barnum) supposedly will push for legitimate playing time this year. It would not make sense to shift two of the most promising offensive linemen to an entirely new/foreign position. DT will undoubtedly be thin next year, but I don't think we should all panic. Martin looked excellent as a true freshman last year, and I have no qualms with him starting. Graham will draw attention, which will also help. If (and that's a big if) Campbell's performance approaches the hype, the unit will be serviceable. Not great necessarily, but definitely serviceable. And considering the lack of depth virtually across the board last year, it's unrealistic to expect the coaches to remedy the depth chart at every position in one recruiting class.

I never heard a peep about Khoury moving to defense. I think he's strictly an OL. Omameh was ranked as a DE coming out of high school. I'm sure he could change his body/workout to prepare to be a DE, but from what I've heard/read, he's been bulking up to play OT since he got to campus. I don't envision a switch for either of them.

Helmuth will be at DT now, and Ferrara could move back to DT but most likely will stay at one of the guard positions. I don't forsee any other possible changes. Omameh is a strong contender for the LT position, and Khoury is our backup center; they won't be moving from the OL.
