I think that Barwis has his hands on 'im. I don't think they are doing any football drills just yet. If they are they are doing it on their own without coaches supervision. But from what I hear Barwis likes Big Will's drive. He even called the guy humble and eager to learn.

but I had the impression that Will would be a challenge to coach. I've coached high school football, and sometimes the things that make them good players are the same things that make them tough to handle. Either I've pegged him wrong or I've underestimated Barwis' ability to make grown men cry.

understands that he can clown around with his buddies but when it comes to football and his coaches, it's all about focusing and doing what he has to to excel. If so, sounds like he was brought up right by his parents.

I have not heard anyone question Will Campbell's coachability or attitude. He does slack on the field at times (doesn't fire off the ball, doesn't maintain his blocks, doesn't run hard all the time), but you'd be hard-pressed to find a 315-pounder who doesn't. And high school stars usually aren't worried about losing playing time, because they know they can mess around quite a bit and their coaches will keep them out there. Once those players get to college and they know there's an equally talented player pushing them for playing time (or, in his case, maybe a guy who's slightly less talented but works harder), that either forces them to step it up or to wilt under the pressure. Let's remember that some of Michigan's legends - Mike Hart and Desmond Howard, for example - weren't exactly prim and proper and averse to putting on a little show for the crowd/audience. And one thing I did learn from that video of those players breakdancing at the AAA Bowl - those other players looked to Campbell for leadership, and he didn't want to be shown up by the West team. I know that may not seem like much, but I think that gives us a little insight into his personality.

assessment of Big Will. People look at his stature but forget about the *kid* within his personality. He will be fine...could we please allow him to grow and mature before our eyes...imo,we're going to be WoWed by him in the end. Mr Pryor...meet Mr Campbell!

If you saw the condition of the fields that Cass Tech played on, I wouldn't run hard either. Those fields looked so poorly maintained that I'm surprised none of these kids blew out a knee or severely sprained an ankle.

Everyone who thinks Will is just a goof-off needs to relax. I agree with Magnus that we've never read anyone state that he has attitude problems or cannot be coached. The guy came to school early, remember that. Normally that doesn't happen if a guy doesn't care. And so what if he likes to clown around and have fun? Everyone has different personalities. He seems like he's very focused when it comes to fball and when given the right opportunity, he has fun with it. chill out, i'm sure things will be just fine.

Have you ever met a big guy who wasn't a little bit of a goof-ball. All of my lineman buddies from HS and now in college are either a little crazy or flow blown nuts. That's why they're fun.

Linemen are goofy MFers. I think it's partly because they're the fat kids growing up who are never the "cool kid" so they develop funny personalities to fit in. It's kind of like fat girls and the fact that they give better blowjobs (or so I've heard).

females is that the good looking ones are the crappy ones in bed because their looks never made them have to figure out how to please a guy. It was just too easy for them to get a guy. But the bigger or less attractive girls had to compensate for not being the looker by being better in the sack. And per your comments, you are saying you enjoy the crappy superficial and dumb hot chicks to take home drunk after a night at the local bar?

On big Will slacking off.. I remember Barwis saying theres difference between lifting heavy and football lifting heavy, or something similar. Big will is prob just lifting heavy and not football lifting heavy. Meaning he may be strong as hell, but not on football field as much as he can. Barwis' workouts give people more energy and does certain lifting techniques to make your power able to use on the field. For example.. You might be able to push a defender back, but not hold it because you dont use those muscle. In barwis' workouts he does workouts that relate to football. Big Will will be ready to go hard on every play now. If he slacks off, he sits, enough said. He may not be an every down guy either. Let him go hard on 2-3 plays, sit 1-2 plays, go hard 2 plays. Etc.
