Answer to a frequently posed question.....

Submitted by Rush N Attack on

This comes straight from the HC himself, so we can probably stop asking this:

"CBSSports.com: "Help is on the way in recruiting. You can't mention names but you've got a couple of guys, right?

Rodriguez: "Everybody says 'why didn't you use a different scheme until you get your players?' I say, 'do you think that would have made a difference?'"

I guess that answers that.

Also.... we have the BEST fans!

"CBSSports.com: Are you getting any crap or are people staying positive?

Rodriguez: "You get some when you're running off the field and you hear some in the parking lot. I'm so pigeon-holed. I go home and I go to the office."

someone (Brian?!) should draft up a letter of support to RichRod telling him that true fans understand the transition and know that we will be awesome in a few years, while the media (drew sharp) and all of the fair weather fans are not worth his time.  All of us who understand the transition can have their name put on the letter before it's sent.  I think RichRod could use a pick-me-up like this....I think he's in shock over the uproar from the "fans".

While I appreciate the sentiment, I would be completely and utterly shocked if Bill Martin were even giving the smallest, most infinitesimal thought to firing RR.  I'll say this -- if he did (at least after one year), I would have to strongly consider rethinking my Michigan fandom.  But I think Martin (and most reasonable fans such as the ones who largely populate this place) realize this year was going to suck and are trying to accept things with sangfroid and looking forward to brighter days, etc.

(Now writing a letter to RR letting him know we support him...I co-sign there.)
