All recruits being told to wait as "Silent Commits" until Signing Day

Submitted by Indonacious on

Per Steve Lorenz, it seems as though any future commits will be silent until NSD, when Harbaugh wants to make splash and have all of them reveal their commitment on that day! If true, another unique idea from harbaugh...maybe has something to do with the signing with the stars event?

This happens more than you think. I believe Bama does this to make recruiting wins look better. Same with other big name schools who get like 4-5 commits on NSD.

Come on ... How is paywalled information supposed to stay that way? For one .. You think only Steve Lorenz knows this information? Secondly .. If my friend pays for a subscription and he calls and says "I hear such and such is happening" the. I'm just supposed to keep it to myself because it's "insider information" ... Get real!

That's his opinion and he's entitled to it. My opinion as someone who subscribes to multiple outlets is that it's frustrating to see info that I pay to see, posted here on a free blog. Obviously everyone who doesn't subscribe is all for it and wants more of it, I understand that. But those people also need to understand that those of us that do subscribe feel like what we are paying for is being devalued by it being posted on places like this.

So boxing matches and the such that are PPV, the results thereof can never be known beyond those that paid to see the matches?  Network ESPN is essentially subscriber view, are you suggesting that nobody but cable and satellite subscribers can know the information shown and dispensed through their network?

Seriously, dude.  Paywalls exist so schlubs like you will pay for information which will be in the public domain mere minutes after you read it.

Are you an employee of a recruiting a site?
Ace and Brian are friends with Steve. If they felt this post shouldn't be up it would have been removed.
If you don't like paying for a devalued site then stop paying and get your info for free by waiting a bit and finding it online free of charge. If you have to know news immediately then that's on you.
