"Add two more Michigan Olympians": 1 of the 2, Sam Mikulak

Submitted by Blue Vet on June 27th, 2021 at 8:12 AM

James Burrill Angell posted the news that Cameron Bock and Sam Mikulak made the Olympics team. (Kudos, Mr. Angell.)

Still, I thought MGoBloggers might be interested in this longer New York Times article about Sam, both making the team and overcoming mental health issues along the way.

So another poster already let us know that these two made the Olympics last night (literally 3 posts down from yours).

Are you telling me these two athletes were added AGAIN to the same Olympics team?  How can players be added twice like that?  I don't get it.

I acknowledged and praised the earlier post. However the articles linked in that one drew little interest, perhaps because they seemed to simply indicate that 2 Wolverines made the Olympics team.

So because of that small interest, I thought it worth a separate post for readers who might like to look at this very different article that focused on Mikulak overcoming mental health issues to make the team.

Two reasons.

First, it only had a few responses, and they indicated they weren't interested in a general article about making the team. That suggested the post would get few more readers.

Second, as I indicated, the article I linked was more in-depth about Sam overcoming mental health issues.

BTW, I'm assuming you asked your question in earnest, which is why I replied.
