He may very well ditch the 3-3-5 at some point, but unless he can't get the coach or players for it, it'll sit in the closet for a while.

than a base defense philosophy with Shafer.
From that Bacon interview, it is clear that RR is not married to the 3-3-5, but that the conflict with Shafer was something else. Of the staff, SHafer and Jackson were the only ones unfamiliar to RR, and I think it just didn't work out personality-wise.

with campbell and martin for the next 3-4 years it wouldn't really make sense to only have one defensive tackle on the field at a time

but I think there's a link somewhere here on a recent post where RR gave an interview and said he wanted to go with a 4-3 base.
(I didn't actually listen but I think some of the posts referenced it. If I'm wrong I'm sure I'll get slammed.)
