#24 ranked player has UM as his #1
Tony Drake's teamate, Corey Nelson, who is ranked the #24 player in the country by rivals and their #4 outside linebacker got an offer from us and says that we are his number one school right now. Good news. He says he isn't going to make a decision until signing day though, so we have a long wait to see if it stays this way.

Hmm...
2008
Adrian Witty - Denard Robinson
2009
Tony Drake - Corey Nelson.
Just a thought.

That's great news, considering the fact that we need some more linebackers. I wonder if Drake's recruitment was one of those "let's get the slightly lower ranked guy so we can get his better teammate" deals (a la Adrian Witty last year).

but drake looks like a solid player in his own right. maybe not as electric as mcguffie, but we all know how that turned out. There are good reasons why we should open pipelines to certain schools especially if those schools have good demographics and good coaches that teach fundamentals and have decent S&C programs.
It looks like the days of redshirting 'Everyone' and only signing 17 kids per class are going the way of the dodo. so the more ready they are to hit the ground running, the better.

We're gonna have to get down into the gutter with this one. We're dealing with local heavyweights. Given our recent history in the region...this is going to be a roller coaster.
Oh, and this just might be a landmine for one Les Miles. On the offchance that RR flames out in a couple years and UM is looking for another new coach, Les's name will still be near the top of the list, and the faction that pushed for him will be even louder. If he starts running his mouth about UM on the recruiting trail again to win one prospect...

I used to like the guy. But, for what ever reason, it seems he sorta played Michigan. I know a guy who is close to the situation...no let me retract that. This guy used to play for UofM. He knows Desmond well, he helped recruit Brandon Graham. He told me that Les Miles was going to get the gig. Then the next thing I know...forget it, I don't want to digress. But what had Les been saying on the recruiting trail about UofM?

Tony Drake ran something like a 10.58 100 last week according to Sam Webb so I wouldn't necessarily say he is Adrian Witty per se.

He also said that DJ Williamson ran in the 10.5 range in the 100 meters. We have speed.
Actually I meant DJ Williamson, I get the two mixed up for some reason.

for all the crap he's gotten before even enrolling, i hope adrian witty winds up all-conference
he's my new favorite player
The coaches seem to be high on this guy. They expect him to be able to come in and compete.
The only real concern I have about Witty is his injuries. From what I've seen of him, the kid can play. He just has a hard time staying on the field.
To the best of my knowledge, he's only been injured once. It was a pretty significant injury yes, but it's not like he's proven over time to be injury-prone.
