2023 preseason expectations Big XII
The Big XII is a 14-team conference. But it’s gonna go back to being a 12-team conference which syncs with their XII. No wait, make that 13! No wait…14. …uh…16? – Who knows how many teams it will eventually have, we know for sure there are 14 this season.
See first comment for image.
Texas is the highest-ranked team in the conference, but with no wiggle room; defending conference champ K-State and CFP finalist TCU are close behind with Oklahoma and Texas Tech right behind them. Five expected combatants to win the conference, and then a little gap to the middling teams.
All 4 of the new additions are expected to fall in the back half of the conference: UCF (48), BYU (51), Cincy (54), and Houston (63). Perhaps they’ll question whether moving to the Big XII was worth it when they’re battling for bowl eligibility alongside Kansas.

damn it again with the double post
Hopefully, Cincinnati finds some success in the Big12 and chips away a little bit of Ohio State's stranglehold on Ohio talent and media attention.
Michigan has had to deal with MSU who has Michigan at the center of their universe.

Cincinnati is a good school in an interesting city. They deserve some prominence.
Once Texas and Oklahoma leave, I suspect the Big XII will be of interest solely to fans of the teams in the league. Waiting for someone (SEC? Big Ten?) to poach Clemson and Florida State and then the ACC will lose what little cachet it has. There will be only two conferences that matter in another couple of years. Gee, I sure hope ND isn’t left out in the cold.

Eh, I think that ASU, Utah, and AZ are sufficient replacements in aggregate for Texas and Oklahoma. There's enough "there" for the Big 12 to remain relevant. It will be a step behind the SEC and B1G, but it won't be desolate.

It's not a terribly original thought but I do not buy the Texas hype at all.
