2021-2022 Michigan basketball conference schedule released

This does not seem like an overly favorable split - Michigan has to go to the Troll Center with no return visit from Wisconsin. Two teams on the home only part would have been gimmies (or as close as you can get) for a road game: Penn State, NW and Minnesota are likely to be bottom feeders and we only get one game with them.
Agreed, definitely not great overall. Having to play Illinois, Purdue, OSU, and MSU twice then only getting Wisconsin and IU on the road is not great
OTOH: Favorable date with top likely challenger for B1G title and no return game.
When you win the conference you are expected to be able to play a tough schedule.
I'm sure Illinois got an easy schedule.
Slightly disappointed by the draw. Not playing at Northwestern is practically losing a home game, and we have to go to the Trohl Center and Assembly Hall without return trips.
Not the best draw, but we were given a very favorable one last year so I'll deal with it.
Only getting one game each from Minnesota, NW, and Penn State (three worst teams in conference) is brutal. They're gonna need to win a handful of games at tough environments and can probably only slip up once at home if they want to repeat as champs. They will be battle-tested for the tournament though, unlike the Gonzagas of the world
Gonzaga has done pretty damn well in the big dance. The 'battle-tested" belief is a bunch of baloney. There is significant parity in college basketball. Virtually every B1G basketball game is a challenge-the top teams still have to "show up" at every game. (Michigan at Minnesota!)
This challenging schedule reduces the opportunities for the younger players to get on the court for more meaningful time. It is difficult to overstate the importance of winning and Juwan clearly reflects this with the amount of playing time the reserves have gotten. (Zeb was afforded little opportunity to shed his fish-out-of-water look with last year's more favorable schedule...and it may have seriously undermined his basketball future.) Ultimately, these uneven conference schedules are in fact big deals for the kids. Look at MSU's schedule for next year-OMG, relative to Michigan's!
Go (home and away), Blue!
This is close to the toughest possible schedule sans Nebraska. I am looking forward to it!
I know Maryland should be really good but wish they were on the schedule twice.
It is fun how mad they are at Juwan, Hunter, Nike, DeMatha, the Ukranian mob, etc.!
That's a nice home schedule and the road-only isn't bad. Interested to see how IU looks.
Screwed by the Big Ten yet again. Why am I surprised.
Tough draw, but when you are expected to compete for and win the conference title, you should have to play a tough schedule to prove your worth.
i’m sure they will be up for the challenge. Juwan will have this team ready.
