2020 Basketball Center Recruiting
Maybe this is more a question for Matt D, but if anyone has any knowledge of this, I'd love to hear. Besides Walker Kessler and a little bit on Zach Loveday, who both seem like unlikely gets, who are we recruiting at the center position in 2020? After this upcoming season, the only actually center on our roster will be Colin Castleton, so grabbing a solid center prospect or two will be key for the 2020 cycle
umhoops is really good about keeping track of Michigan offers and targets. On their site, they list Isaiah Jackson and Hunter Dickinson as two Bigs that Michigan is targeting. Jackson may not be a center though. Looks more like a 4 to me.
You are right about UMHoops. That's by far the best place to keep up with BB recruiting. However Jackson and Dickinson were early targets that aren't showing much interest in Michigan. They have a better chance at Kessler and especially Loveday.
I would imagine the coaches are keeping an eye on other potential targets, but they haven't yet moved on from their top choices. At least not to the point of visiting or arranging visits for anyone else.
double post
Does anybody recruit true centers anymore?
Five out position less basketball with nothing but 3’s = what the eff is a center!
Yes they do, but not many recruit traditional power forwards to play along side them. A traditional center that's a strong defender is still valuable. One whose best asset is a post up game has limited appeal.
This post changed substantially this morning eh?
