2012 PG Spike Albrecht
Apparently Beielin is visiting this guy today. 5'11" PG out of IN who played in the NEPSAC, the same league that McGary and Smot played in. Had a pretty good showing against Brewster/McGary at the end of the season apparently.
Doesn't look particularly quick, kinda short, and looks to have a funny shot at times (at least as far as footwork is concerned). Probably a back-up plan if we miss out on the Italian stallion.

Obviously before he and McGary went preppin' in the NE, Albrecht comes from the same HS conference in Indiana that produced McGary, GRIII, Novak, etc. (and Rob Hummel, Scott Martin, etc. etc.) Long live the DAC.
Anyway, preppin' was a good route for him. Seems he even got the best of Brewster/McGary, as the OP suggests...

I think that was McGary's teams only loss this season, no?

Yes and one of their only close games. (Game write-up provided by a still-steamed coach? "lost to a more disciplined Mt Hermon... :)
Also the secondary link included in the link I originally included is bad: here is the good one (BONUS: ESPN props for Stauskas)

That video was uploaded back in 2010, so I would imagine he's matured and improved since then.

I choose not to worry about shooting mechanics anymore. Shurna had plenty of success with the ugliest shot in recent memory.

Peja Stojakovic won three straight three point shooting contests flinging the ball from behind his head

Beilein needs to go after RAY LEE...boy has been stroking it from Romulus, MI. Looks like a taller Trey Burke. He committed to Eastern Michigan last month, but Beilein can change that...

Lee has major character concerns. Makes guys like Avery Queen and Brandon Smith look like upstanding citizens.
RR wouldn't have had the audacity to pursue Lee after what Lee has been accused of in the past.
JB wouldn't touch him even if his job was on the line (which it isn't).
How do you think he ended up at EMU?

Ray Lee's father is...............interesting.
I would be stunned if Beilein even remotely checked into this kid.

Boy has also been stroking other people without their permission, apparently...

JB may have been blind sided a bit by Burke.

Big brother Stephen started for Toledo and then transferred to Brown.
Given name is actually Michael (thank God).
Semi-interesting article only part-fluff about growing up in a well-to-do basketball playing family.
And bonus article about big brother and Zack Novak trying to get VU scholarships at a tourney (sigh)

I would take Ray Lee over 3 Spike Albrechts based on their respective film....
March 22nd, 2012 at 12:33 PM ^
see Magnus' post above. would you take Ray Lee's highlights from like 3 years ago over that?
March 22nd, 2012 at 12:44 PM ^
Definitely point taken, and I also didnt realize he could be a character nuclear bomb...
Im dumb

Yes, I would-- that's not a knock on Spike, either. Lee was ranked a 4* top 150 player then.
Dude grew up in a single-parent household, and the sexual assault charges were dropped the day after they were filed. Methinks some people are stigmatizing and generalizing, and I resent that.
If someone actually knows Ray Lee, could we get an opinion on him? Would he be a lost cause character-wise, or does he just need strong role models like Beilein and Burke?
I'm not stigmatizing or generalizing anyone. Just simply stating that JB won't approach him, period. It's not the way he works. Whether that's fair or not is a different conversation.
Fair enough. My mistake.
How about a Brandon Wood-esque transfer? TJ McConnell of Duquesne is transferring. He was Atlantic 10 Conference freshman of the year in 2010 and posts some monster stats.
Quote from the article: “but we’re going to look around and explore some options with some programs that we think might need a point guard.”
