2009 Football Tickets

Submitted by exmtroj on
Does anyone know when mgoblue.com starts selling football tickets? I'm trying to get my hands on some WMU tickets when I come back on leave from Army Infantry school, and I want to make sure I don't have to go through stubhub and pay higher prices for the same type seats. Thanks.

usually they will post the date on the website in June and then they usually go on sale near the last week in July. It seems like the date last year was July 23, but I would not swear to it.

exmtroj, Just show up for the game. Yes, there's a little bit of excitement because it's the opener and maybe even a lot of Western guys will show, but there will be more tickets than people can give away outside the gates before that one.

From an mgoblue employee: Available, individual, home & away football game tickets normally go on sale sometime in June or early July preceding the season. Orders can be placed online at www.mgoblue.com or by calling the Athletic Ticket Office toll free line (866/296-6849) at that time. Also, ticket costs won’t be available until sometime in April.

If you're an alum or know one who's paid dues to the alum assoc, there's a single game ticket purchase program available BEFORE the general sales go on. They're always offering tickets through this to the non-B10 games, and for certain B10 games (like Wiscy or Penn St) they'll let you buy tix for that as long as you package them with a purchase for Western/Delaware St/etc. They'll be at face value. One thing to bitch about though, the alum assoc used to allow regional alum clubs to buy tickets in a group block in February as long as you bought more than 12 for a single game. This year they bumped it up to 50! My alumni club here in Dayton OH (not a big one) has participated in this for the past two years and we usually bought between 15-30 for 2-3 games each season, usually games that aren't "big sellers" like last year's Miami (NTM) game. But by upping the minimum to 50, you've now effectively shut out the smaller clubs and the only groups that will be able to buy this way are really big ones like Chicago, Detroit, Grand Rapids etc, where I would think most of those guys already have the bread/seniority to buy into season tix already.
