#20 in Coaches Poll
Two teams headed in the opposite directions USC and Michigan:

Letting Harbaugh off the hook.

Is it? We were a top 10 preseason team. Nobody cares if we’re ranked 20th or UR. People are pissed. Alum seem pissed. Obviously that’s not the end all be all, but there is no doubt he is feeling the pressure, big time.
September 22nd, 2019 at 2:15 PM ^
generous spot
September 22nd, 2019 at 2:15 PM ^
I bet we end up better than USC and that Harbaugh will be here longer than Helton at USC.
No idea why I think that. I guess I’m hoping our players and coaches are sick of having their manhood inverted with a kick into their abdomens by anyone with a pulse.
September 22nd, 2019 at 2:51 PM ^
You are probably right, but who cares. He'll be here longer than Willie Taggart too, but we aren't FSU.
September 22nd, 2019 at 2:15 PM ^
Overrated. Whoever voted for Michigan in the top 25 at all should have their voting rights revoked. Until Michigan can show something better than the first 3 games, they are not a top 25 team.
September 22nd, 2019 at 2:34 PM ^
I agree with you completely.
September 22nd, 2019 at 2:17 PM ^
It’s a good thing the interns don’t watch football.
September 22nd, 2019 at 2:19 PM ^
After yesterday's performance, coupled with the sloppy performances the previous two games, Michigan should not be ranked at all.
September 22nd, 2019 at 2:26 PM ^
This ranking is strictly based on name. They are not a top 25 team. They should have had 0 votes, but yet here they are at #20.
They should roll RU next week and then after that will be mostly toss-ups/for sure losses. Can’t believe I’m saying that in year 5.
September 22nd, 2019 at 2:32 PM ^
What have you seen from this team that suggests they should roll Rutgers. I know Rutgers is terrible but....
September 22nd, 2019 at 2:24 PM ^
On one hand, we have been crap outside of the first half against MTSU (and that still included a few fumbles). So we shouldn’t be ranked.
On the other hand, if you’re not in the top 15, you’re pretty much irrelevant so I don’t really care if we are arguing whether we or MSU or USC have looked better or worse so far.
September 22nd, 2019 at 2:24 PM ^
Way too high. They have no chance against at least the next 20 teams below them.
September 22nd, 2019 at 2:25 PM ^
So it looks like Urban Meyer isn't going to USC......
September 22nd, 2019 at 2:25 PM ^
Who gives a shit?
September 22nd, 2019 at 2:26 PM ^
That's a guaranteed loss at Penn state for us. As close to a lock as you can get. Lol. Take it to the bank.
September 22nd, 2019 at 2:28 PM ^
Should have just dropped us out of the rankings. Definitely haven’t played like a Top 25 team this season.
September 22nd, 2019 at 2:29 PM ^
USC would shit all over Michigan and people on here wouldn’t shut up about what a shit coach Clay is.
September 22nd, 2019 at 2:40 PM ^
5 SEC teams in the top 8
September 22nd, 2019 at 2:41 PM ^
Seems about right. They are the best conference ever, after all.
September 22nd, 2019 at 9:47 PM ^
Florida is too high, Wisconsin too low.
September 22nd, 2019 at 2:43 PM ^
Michigan doesn't win road games vs ranked teams. Period. So at PSU is a loss. Then you look at ND and OSU. Losses. So the best is 8-4 and that's a fringe top 25 team. We shouldn't be ranked until proven otherwise.
Oh well. At least lions look decent.

Woodson Is right about that
September 22nd, 2019 at 2:49 PM ^
I think it's because we were dominant enough to hurt Talyor's Hammy....good job by our linebackers on that 80 yard run to force that one little cut
September 22nd, 2019 at 2:51 PM ^
TAMU and USC right now would kick the shit out of this sorry excuse for a team. I'd expect Wake, KSU, and UCF to give M a game right now too.
September 22nd, 2019 at 3:30 PM ^
I like TAMU but they are the same underachieving team with tremendous resources as Michigan. Mond = SP
Jimbo = Harbs
They are the Michigan of the SEC, but your point stands- they would truck M.
September 22nd, 2019 at 2:56 PM ^
Generous after that debacle. We need a lot of work done. Technically the season is not over even though it looks like that. He can still right the ship. Next weeks game won’t mean shit. Iowa will be the next big test. So far 0-1 I’m talking to you harbaugh
September 22nd, 2019 at 3:08 PM ^
That's being kind. Then again there are not a lot of good teams to choose from after a while.
September 22nd, 2019 at 3:37 PM ^
Well, that’s probably about 20+ spots too high. This team isn’t even remotely close to a top 25 team right now.
September 22nd, 2019 at 3:46 PM ^
I was thinking they were going to be 24, so 20 isn't so bad after all....
September 22nd, 2019 at 4:52 PM ^
Don't deserve to be ranked at all. If Iowa doesn't take care of that, Penn State and Notre Dame, back to back, will.
September 22nd, 2019 at 5:27 PM ^
The rankings don't even matter for us. This program has gone from tailspin to all out freefall.
September 22nd, 2019 at 6:15 PM ^
How any coach could put us in the top 25 on their ballot after these three games is beyond me.

BRENT VENABLES.
He's the best defensive mind in college football today. Seems to be the only DC in college football capable of stopping Elite modern offenses (i.e. in CFP formats).
Only 48 yrs old. Has been the #2 man at top-5 programs (Oklahoma/Clemson) for the past 20 yrs (since he was 28 yrs old). An excellent recruiter -- Rivals' 2016 National Recruiter of the year.
Knows how it's done at a top program. Has enough experience to be ready 3 or 4 times over. No black marks, violations, accusations in his history. Could probably bring one of Clemson's co-OC's with him (Tony Elliott--the more proven offensive mind *or* Jeff Scott--the elite recruiter).
Dabo, Kirby Smart, Lincoln Riley, Ryan Day -- 4 of the coaches at top-5 programs in the country assumed their current positions with no prior HC'ing experience.
The answer is clear. I personally think he's the next Nick Saban.
