Regardless of whether this particular recruit sticks, this is a great sign for long term program recruiting. Being in on guys like this early helps raise the profile and get the name out more in certain areas of the country's recruiting circle for the '24, '25, and '26 cycles. More good players interested is a good thing!

On a Michigan Recruiting Insider a few months back, they were basically saying that if we get Jadyn Davis, we're probably not getting Bryce Underwood. Just how QB recruiting works these days... unless you're OSU

Not getting any of Dante Moore, CJ Carr or Bryce Underwood is certainly going to produce some strong reactions though

Man, Bryce Underwood looked phenomenal and still has 2 years of H.S. to play. He already has two state championships and is legit 6'4 with all the tools. We have to continue to recruit him regardless. Could you imagine him going to Ohio and making us regret not showing him love.

NIL / SEC / Just keeping it real. Let’s hope at some point Michigan will get with what’s needed in college football today. Not being negative by any means. Kids today don’t keep their words most times. Let’s hope this is a start of better recruiting for Michigan! #GoBlue win the natty!

Unfortunately a committment this early guarantees we don't get him.

I wonder if committing early and being a high level level recruit would lead to bigger offers from schools trying to flip you.

If he's a high level recruit, he'll have dozens of offers anyway, as well as coaches calling non-stop, whether he's committed somewhere or not.  For a lower level recruit on the other hand, an offer from a big-time school could generate some buzz/additional interest from schools that might not have normally looked at the player.

Nice to have him! We'll see if he stays.

If he's as good as his recruiting rankings would indicate, it won't be long before Georgia, Alabama or A&M throws a Looney Tunes-sized bag of money with a dollar sign on it onto his living room coffee table and dare him to say no.

Speaking of hopeful early commitments and possible collisions with bags of money, am I the only one fretting over the growing distance between Jadyn Davis's end of season and no announcement? (Hoping there is just an orchestrated deluge of good news for the 2024 class scheduled around 23 NSD).

There are 6 QBs in the top 25 transfers along with a whole class that could flip until they sign on NSD.  I wouldn't declare until I knew who each of my top schools will have in the QB room as well as how the rest of their class is shaping up with particular attention to the OL and WRs.

To me, this is a sign that Santa has, indeed, arrived to Ann Arbor. No way an elite 2025 kid from Florida powerhouse program with no known prior ties considers committing unless we have some plausible pathway to a competitive NIL program that we are pitching or expect to be pitching by then.

It's the Clink factor.  He was selling kids on Kentucky when they are perennial cellar dwellers in the SEC.  Selling kids on a school that is going to the CFP again has to be a lot easier.  Plus, a 15 year old might assume that the money will be the same no matter where they go.

For sure, the NIL funding and distribution is something that we need to address long before he finally decides.
