What a glorious season that was! I was able to attend the OSU game as well as the Rose Bowl against Washington State and the great Ryan Leaf. I bought a bunch of sweatshirts and Rose Bowl gear that year and took decent care of it all. My 16-year-old daughter found my stash earlier this year and she has been wearing it to high school fairly regularly. Oh well, at least she isn't selling it on-line like other kids who know the value of retro clothing! (She also found my 1989 Michigan Basketball shirts and sweatshirts).

That is awesome!!! Can't believe some of these players are so old now...and that means I am old. LOL. Seems like yesterday I was hating Katzenmoyer (sp?) or rooting for ATrain.
The last 15 years have been rough, but I am grateful to have been a College Senior and enjoyed the 1997 season.
Thanks, Lake! It's a weekend treat.
I remember this game like it was yesterday. So many classics, like the streaker @ halftime ?. The next day I was hoarse from yelling and my hand was sore from high fiving everyone in section 32.
GO BLUE!!!
I had always thought the halftime streaker (with the finishing Heisman pose in the north endzone) was the 1995 Game. Am I remembering wrong? O, could it be that there were streakers at both?
No matter what happens, we’ll always have ‘97.
I stand corrected Andrew. The streaker was the 95 game. Sore hand was after both games.
They were two truly wonderful days. Had my dad with me in the student section in ‘95 and two Northwestern fans behind us who were probably the two most elated folks in the stadium that day.
’97 on the field after it was over I found myself face to face with Andre Weathers and I (tried) hollering something along the lines of “You won the game!” Of course I was so hoarse he probably just recognized me for what I was, a delirious idiot.
I don't know why you're getting negged. It is indeed sad. I mean who could be happy about that fact. I know I'm not.
That was the best.
I watched that game on television with my dad.
David Boston holds Chucks pocket.
The fans taunt Boston just before halftime. But it was during a timeout so they’ll probably cut that part out.
And yes, it’s also hard to believe there was a time when we didn’t cut to commercial break # 5,000 during a timeout.
He was psyched out and started throwing a hissy fit.
Boston made the cover of SI. He was flying through the air courtesy of Marcus Ray and after landing on the turf had to be helped off the field. ?
NHL hockey is on
I was there actually. That game was poetry in person, especially due to the play of Woodson.
Was there too. Glorious. Except for the brief moment I allowed myself to think they could score and kick extra point to win 21-20. But I brushed that aside because that defense wasn’t going to allow that.
Was at the game. Remember the streaker. I think he struck the Heisman pose before security took him away. Been too long since Michigan did their talking on the field.
So now I'm watching the '85 game, and Kolesar just made his long TD reception, and I'm trying to focus on how good that moment felt.
(Sigh.)
The thought of scoring 7 offensive points against OSU and winning is laughable to think about in the quasi flag football era we’re in.
Turn off BTN at 9. Unless you're a masochist.
In 2047 it will be the 50th anniversary of this game. I have doubts that college football will be allowed in 27 years, since it is too dangerous. But if it is, I sure hope Michigan has beaten OSU several time by then. Harbaugh will be my age in 2047, 84, so he could still be coaching. You know what they will be saying by then, that the new 40 will be 80!
Gang tackle on defense. Steele , Hall , Sword , and Woodson. Thanks Mo.
