The 12th man recruiter
So, we have no actual Michigan football for another 9 months. The only thing we have to look forward to, at least over the next 2-3 months is recruiting. It got me thinking. What can we as fans do to lure recruits to Michigan? Anything? It seems most anything is illegal but if you're not cheating you're not trying so what the hell. Just kidding, kind of. This thread is only somewhat serious.

One idea is that if you live in a town where our guys are playing in the playoffs, going to their games decked out in Michigan gear isn't a bad idea. Especially in a decent group of guys, plus it would likely be a good time. A bunch of my M buddies out here are gonna check out Matt Barkley and Mater Dei soon, because there really aren't any M recruits nearby. It would show support and show people that M fans are everywhere.

while it isnt exactly legal the NCAA cannot possibly monitor all the people talking to recruits on there. I feel guilty while doing it but I like to think it may help some day.

do NOT do that. the last thing you should do is pester a recruit trying to get him to go to Michigan.

The NCAA is investigating whether Facebook/Myspace messages should count as recruiting violations. So I'd say that's a no-no.
If I were a recruit, I would get VERY annoyed if I started getting a ton of messages from fans of different schools. Just sit back and watch the recruiting unfold.

ppl need to not write shit on ppls walls on facebook. recruits and players alike. don't dog on someone for a play they didn't make or not choosing UM. thats petty as fuck. these are kids not professionals. There is a time and a place for that, and both of those forums aren't for that shit.

It's best not to do anything at all. The rules are very strict about this stuff. Just have faith that the staff will get the job done.
