If Lyles is telling truth, Chip Kelly must go
even if he's not, the obvious attempted cover-up after the 25k payment should be enough
If the Oregon Athletic Dept had a normal reporting relationship with its university, conventional thinking would apply and the UofO might decide to cut it's losses and coerce a resignation from Kelly.
But the UofO has a booster who has donated tens of millions of dollars and has handpicked the last two ADs as well as (at least) the head coaches of the football, basketball and baseball teams.
Chip Kelly is Phil Knight's guy. Chip's been doing exactly what Phil Night wants (think "Just Do It").
Phil Knight isn't going to back down without a fight.
I would be surprised if he goes to the mat since he has linked himself so closely to the school. He doesn't need any negative pub following the brand around.
