the just released schedules were a flat-out statement that the B10 doesn't believe SOS will matter in playoff selection
Great New Michigan Bar In Chicago!!!
I've recently caught wind of a great new Michigan bar in Chicago. I'm so f'in tired of Duffy's and have also begun to passionately hate the newest bar, Mad River. They both smell like puke and they're full of the idiots you've tried to forget after college.
Matilda, on the corner of Sheffield and Barry, has been a great bar in Lakeview for a long time. It attracts a great crowd of laid back fun people, has a great beer selection and has food that makes you second guess that you're in a bar. Just recently, though, the management decided to open it up exclusively to the Michigan crowd on Saturdays for some Ann Arbor nostalgia. I talked to the owner and he mentioned that Oberon will be served in mason jars ala Dominick's in the Summer. Pair that with a menu full of food that even your disinterested girlfriend will eat and I'd say we've found ourselves a a place that would make even Bo smile. He's also picked up a bunch of HD projectors that'll be locked on the Michigan game so no seat will be denied a view of the weekly U of M victories.
Next to football starting in less than a week, this amazing new place to drink away my football anxiety is the best news I've heard all year. GO BLUE!!! Hail to the Spread!!!
Matilda is actually a decent bar, this is pretty cool.
Although when someone creates a user account just to pimp a new bar, methinks he may not just be an uninterested party.
stop advertising your bar on mgoblog. no matter where we are, us true fans will find a bar to drink at with other michigan fans if it nice enough. but most of us true fans ultimately will find a way back to a2...
and, i haven't been this giddy like a school girl for the season to kick off since.. never. the revolution is about to begin. GO BLUE!!!
i only respect other superfans
A) I'm not the owner, it's just my neighborhood bar.
B) I'll be in Ann Arbor for the Utah game, believe me. For games like Miami of Ohio, though, c'mon...like most of us won't be in some local watering hole. I just wanted everyone to know about it...sue me.
GO BLUE!
I heard this bar is 23+?? is that true?
And johnny fumblepants..are you the owner?
I will happen to be in Chicago this weekend. Does anybody know if the game will be broadcast on local television. I didn't see it on the B10 Network.

I'm almost positive it will be on ABC or ESPN2. one of those, i am positive.
It's on ABC.
I have no idea if this bar is 23+, as IM A MAN IM 30, but they do have some decent beers on tap. I've been in there a couple of times before. Not like Map Room or Sheffields-good beer on tap, but better than average (and happily, average tap selection has gotten a lot better the last few years)
Matilda has a sign on the door that says 23+. Not sure how that's legal, but anyway. Possible JF conflict of interest notwithstanding, all he says is true. Good beer, good food, and far enough away from Wrigleyville that post-Cubs douchebaggery is at a minimum. I endorse the endorsement.
I concur...great find. I've been to Matilda on random weekends and have always liked the vibe. Definitely a great spot amongst the mayhem in Wriggleyville. I'll be there Saturday for the thumping of the Utes. Go Blue!

I was actually just walking past that place this weekend. Nice area.
