B1G Championship Game Info

Submitted by MadMatt on November 28th, 2021 at 2:20 PM

Folks, I'm making this a Diary entry in the hopes we can exchange info about B1G Championship Game. It's of general interest in the community, and I'm afraid it will disappear quickly in the forum.

Just asking those in the know whether this sounds correct. My superficial scan of the web shows that no package deals are available. This seems unlikely given what else I'm seeing. However, on ticket resale sites, tickets in the nose bleed sections are running $200-300, and Expedia shows hotel rooms in Indy from Fri - Sat at their normal rates. I'm also interested in how one gets from the hotel to the game and back. Given my experience at a night game in Ann Arbor, getting an Uber/taxi right after the game is about as likely as playing pick up sticks with your butt cheeks.

Would anyone else care to share their plans and general info?

Depends 100% on where you’re staying.  If you’re in the downtown area, chances are you could walk it.  If you’re concerned about walking around after midnight when half the people leaving will likely be drunk and sad, Uber and Lyft should be readily available when the game lets out and will be able to ferry you to your lodging without much to do.

if you’re driving into downtown, since there are activities going all all day you’ll want to be there early.  Like, early enough to see the Saturday morning pregame shows doing their thing (both Fox Big Noon Kickoff and BTN Tailgate will there).  Again, the City Center Mall is well within walking distance and has a movie theatre and shopping and tons of eating options for a several block radius.  You will be shouting “It’s Great To Be A Michigan Wolverine” and “Go Blue” all day, so make sure to stay hydrated and warm.  The convention center is where most of the licensed apparel and fan activities like the Pep Rallies will take place.  All you need for entry is your ticket to the game, or you can buy entry for pretty cheap if you’re still searching for tickets leading up to the game.

Does anyone know what the allotment is for each team? I know the conference sells tickets. But of the 70,000 seats, how many are in the general sale and how many to each school?

Edit: reported on the other thread that about 15k tickets available to each school.

This may not apply to general admission ticket sales provided by the M athletic department but season ticket holders got an email from the M athletic department at 4pm. If you wanted tickets allotted for season ticket holders, you had to respond by midnight.

Remember that year MSU got in and tickets were on stubhub for $9?

That was also the year of the famous Craigslist ad...

"Thanks for expressing interest in helping us fill empty seats on Saturday night. We have gotten your e-mail address, and will be sending out details Saturday morning to match the expected number of needed seat-fillers. Our client has asked for discretion about this opportunity, as "seat-filling" is a behind-the-scenes aspect of this event production.

"On the day of the event, we will designate a parking garage and validate your parking. Seat fillers will be assigned seats inside or near the event close to the event start time. We expect fillers will need to be checked in around 6:30pm on Saturday. The event itself begins shortly after 8pm, and we expect it to conclude close to midnight. You will receive payment at the end of the evening upon turning in the paperwork given to you at the beginning of the evening.

"No experience is necessary, and there are no age, sex, or race requirements. We are asking that all participants wear red or dark green t-shirts and/or hats.

"This is an exciting opportunity to be paid to see a live sporting event! We look forward to seeing you on Saturday."
