1. The Schedule
(starts at 1:00)
Seth fights to talk about MTSU's slot bug. Why are we playing Army? They go for it on every 4th down. Jonathan vs Michigan's DT situation doesn't sound great right now. Hornibrook transferred to FSU? The next wave of LBs weren't as eye-popping as the last ones. Cephus is back. Rutgers: everyone guess the winning margin. Iowa has an Epenesa, but DTs? Receivers? Illinois is a sadder version of Rich Rod-era Michigan. Rumor is Fox saved us from a night game at Penn State. Their QB bailed, they've got a Speedy Eaglet.
ND: Kelly is more comfortable with Ian Book, going through an OL and LB transition, let's not talk about their DEs, Seth wants to talk about their Navy safety. Maryland should be not competitive—Anthony McFarland and co. can move. We're skeptical of Locksley. Michigan State has a defense, probably not that many more than 95 yards; Cody White ain't Felton Davis. IU got rid of DeBord, replaced with DeBoer, Tom Allen's team is no longer fun, just hateful and trending bad.
2. Big Ten West Preview
(starts at 54:25)
Bring the jug to Indy!
3. Big Ten East Preview
(starts at 1:07:14)
Big two, little bit Penn State.
4. Gimmicky Top Five: Specific Predictions for 2019
(starts at 1:15:15)

All of us thought it, and none of us meant to, and Ace went and did it anyway.

You can't have pitbull without the pitbull?

The Jug in Indy would be a childhood dream of mine come true when I had a poster of Jon Jansen and Steve Hutchinson lifting the Jug in 1997 and, as a six-year-old, wondered if the Little Brown Jug would be on the line if Minnesota and Michigan played in the post-season.

Also, keep in mind, the TV coverage for Penn State-Michigan has not been announced yet so, depending on how each team is doing (preferably predicated on how PSU is doing) it very well could be an ESPN game at night with College GameDay or at least a night game.

Just me or is Brian being a bit of a dick to Seth throughout the podcast?
August 26th, 2019 at 9:54 AM ^
I had the exact same thought. You can hear the contempt dripping from Brian'a voice in half the responses. It's incredibly awkward to listen to.
August 26th, 2019 at 12:32 PM ^
At the same time, the technical dossier doesn't translate well to the podcast. Seth needs to realize that.
August 26th, 2019 at 5:20 PM ^
Brian has a long and storied history of being a dick to many of his colleagues in various formats. That's just Brian being Brian.
Brian is always the smartest guy in the room...just ask him.
August 26th, 2019 at 8:02 PM ^
He's not like that to Ace, and Ed on the WTKA roundtable is not his employee.
It also seems to be getting worse. Like, Brian has always been cynical and snarky, but in a funny way. Now he just seems mean.
What's the deal with shutting down talking about Army? Brain acts like Seth is an asshole for actually prepping material that's actually about football.

Came to the comments section to post the same thing. It seems totally unnecessary, and it honestly impacts my enjoyment of the (otherwise) great and very professional podcast.

On the Indiana segment:
Peyton Ramsey hasn't won the starting job yet, RS Fr Michael Penix Jr is competing and may win the job. Penix tore his ACL against PSU in a game where he was splitting time with Ramsey and redshirted after.
Donovan Hale is also back at WR.
And George Campbell is transferring to WVU, not PSU.

The Michigan women's gymnastics team won the Big Ten last year.
I doubt they are looking to hire previous Michigan football coaches. Maybe that should be the other way around.

George Karlaftis was named a starter at defensive end for Purdue Week 1

I will go so far to say that Shea gets off screen in game 1 on an RPO fake of some kind. BTN. Night game. First game of the season jitters. Let's make it happen!

"Burlap sacks for everbody." MGoBlog even covers performance history!
In Scapino, a play of comic bits, the crafty servant persuades his boss to hide in a sack from bad guys and then, pretending to be those bad guys, beats his boss. Now, when someone does the play, they'll know to use lemons for the beating.
