The Matt & Seth Show 2022.08: Somebody Tell These Teams It's 2nd & Long Comment Count

Matt Demorest of HomeSure Lending and the great unwashed blogger of our time (like 9:30 to 10:30 a.m.) get into Michigan's almost perverse fixation on running despite Illinois running a pre-passing era 6-2 defense, and how it kinda worked anyways. If you're looking to buy or refi, Matt's the guy.

There is nothing after the jump because it's video content.

In the moment, 3+minutes left, kicking the FG, strangely I had 100% confidence they'd get the ball back. Not a butterfly in the stomach, or hint of bpone they'd get another shot at it. The butterflies and bpone I did have revolved around what the coaches would do with the ball once they got it back, due to the previous decisions they'd made throughout the course of the game. Thankfully at that point the coaches decided that they actually needed to try to win, (unlike Fitz against OSU) but it would've been better to come to that decision far sooner, and avoid the chance of the game coming down to the outcome of 1 play completely, once it was clear the offense was struggling across the board.

JH went into that game with a vanilla game plan because he thought Michigan was better than Illinois… he held out players saving them for the REAL GAME !!! … even after Corum went down he stuck to the vanilla game plan … he had a plan and stuck to it … that was no accident
