Isaiah Sykes for 2011?
Has anyone heard anything about Isaiah Sykes coming to U-M in 2011 instead of this fall? I have no idea of the trustworthiness of this writer, but a blogger for the Oakland Press, Scott M. Burnstein, has a post about Saturday's Michigan High School All-Star Game played at Oakland University.
Burnstein had this to say about Sykes:
Skyes (22 points, 12 rebounds, 7 slam dunks) was breathtaking the entire way bringing down the house with signature stuff after signature stuff, elevating way above the rim on every one. If all things go his way, this lefty slasher specialist will end up in Ann Arbor next year or the year after playing for UofM.Indication he might be heading to prep school? A Flint Journal writer also covered the All-Star Game. This writer called Sykes "currently unsigned but being heavily pursued by the University of Michigan." Further down was this little blurb:
Isaiah Sykes shows his game: While [Keith] Appling and [Maurice] Jones were the two biggest names in the game, Sykes stole the show at times. A strong, fast wing player, Sykes scored 17 points, mostly on dunks diving and slashing through traffic to the rim. He was active and always around the ball, providing the most exciting finishes of anyone in the game. "That's the first time I've ever seen him play, and the guy can take off," [Demarco] Sanders said.

he has transferred a lot and his transcript may cause some problems. so he might need prep school. but his transferring might not be a problem for other schools. unfortunately, even if he can't get into UM, he may be able to get into other major programs, so he may opt for that instead of prep school. hopefully it won't be a problem and he'll be blue.
IM pretty sure I heard the we only offered after making sure the transcripts were all good.
That our offer includes a 2011 option. Plenty of other talent out there in that class.

i don't think it includes a 2011 option. in fact i doubt an offer like that can be made. i think the OP was implying just that sykes might have to be part of a 2011 class.
transferred? I did not realize it was this hard to transfer high schools. I transferred my sophmore to junior year in high school (changed districts UCS to Troy) and it worked to my advantage. Troy's requirement was 22 credits while UCS was 24, so I graduated early

Chadsey to Finney to Denby
Per Free Press article titled Most don't know his name, but Denby's Isaiah Sykes has top skills (Google cache version).
but if you look at his recruiting hotboard for 2011 there are tons of players on there with more talent than Isaiah Sykes. If I were him and had any control over the situation I'd get my tail up to AA ASAP.
