Yes, it is true that a Google search for Woodson in the Michigan uniform shows many shades of maize, mostly due to film processing in that era and other random factors. 

The photo you posted ot Woodson in the other thread gets the maize right, in my opinion.  That is more or less what my eyes saw at Michigan Stadium..  I hope Nike captured that hue of maize.

I agree that we won't really know until we see them walk out of the tunnel at Michigan Stadium under natural light. 

Most of the photos fo the release today  look dark, oddly lighted and/or photoshopped, so that could be the reason the maize looks dark.

My take at simplifying why the Jumpman logo is great for Michigan football. Still see many people getting hung up on the basketball player image. General Motors is to Nike as Chevy is to the Champion logo (owned by Nike) as Buick is to the Swoosh as Cadillac is to the Jumpman Michigan is the only football team rolling in a Cadillac.

If kids like them then great, in the end no one cares about the "old" maize colors. Kids now days like the latest and greatest..want to attract recruits win a lot of games and be different. Look at oregon how well they have recruited with their crazy uniforms. Who thought being a Duck was cool, well oregon made the damn duck cool.
