Run-run-run when all they needed was 1-2 first downs to win. Then the decision to take a knee with 39 sec left and one time out from the 35 yard line. All you needed was 30-35 yards to at least have a chance at a fg. I understand how their QB took that awful sack in OT with a coach like that.

I am convinced that 99% of coaching decisions are made not based on what will give their team the best chance to win but rather, what won't be questioned by their peers post-game regardless of outcome.
Up late with a change to put the game away? No oher coaches will question running the ball into the pile and handing it back to the other team.
Up late with the other team having the ball? Why - the "prevent defense" is the way to go. Other coaches would approve of this approach - regardless of how yards/TDs it gives up.
Peer pressure is a bitch. In high school and as a HC.

100% agreed. Was pulling for j state until they did that crap, then wanted them to lose. Sickening display of lack of balls by coach.
