OT - Baylor WR Robbie Rhodes arrested for drugs and evidence tampering
This will be interesting to watch. I don't wish ill will on anyone. He was driving while high which is why he got pulled over however. He then attempted to hide the drugs resulting in a evidence tampering charge.
I think we know the results will be a far lesser penalty than McGary because it wasn't as a result of a NCAA test which makes no sense.
I read on MLive that Beilein was hopeful they would at a minimum reduce McGary's penalty and it sounded like he was somewhat surprised the appeal was denied.
This goes to show how common sense is not considered by the NCAA.
He'll miss the first half against SMU. Scratch that - this was serious.
He'll have to run stadium stairs as well.
from law enforcement?
Anyways the article states that he was pulled over for failing to signal while changing lanes. The officer smelled pot and found some in the car. I did not see any mention of being charged with driving under the influence.
many of the same field sobriety tests work the same for drugs.
I think the new field sobriety test in CO involves the officer opening up a fresh bag of Doritos, placing it on the hood of the car, and seeing if the suspect can avoid punishing them.
According to the Waco Tribune - HERE - Rhodes was previously cited for possession of drug paraphenelia in McLennan County, which amounted to all of about a $450 fine according to their article. I will say, I find it intriguing that Briles said that had not heard anything about the incident until it was made public by various articles, so I suppose we'll have to see how it plays out. I am guessing that he doesn't miss much time - not sure how Briles will handle this one, of course.
Evidence tampering is a lame charge. What am I supposed to do, just leave my drugs right where they are? Please.
No shit. I read tampering and I was thinking Walter White and a junkyard magnet.
Yeah bitch! Magnets!
makes it thread worthy on its own.
Derrick Nix drove while high and didn't miss a game under Izzo. The Honey Bdger missed one game. McGary misses a season. #NCAA logic
